Talking Free Tools

Took my FRS to the dealer to replace the Brake light switch. They said this is what was causing my ABS light to come on intermittently.

Driving home and I felt something fall onto my feet...........it was a nice LED lit telescopic inspection mirror.

Free tools from the heavens?!

As @Sarlacc said in the now deleted thread on the subject. Take it back.
Make sure the guys know you and the car.
Not only is it the right thing to do but you will get top notch service from them next time you have to go in.

I knew a guy who had a similar thing happen, but it was with a tool that was left in his torso.

He took it back and they gave him a bunch of money, maybe that'll happen with you!

When I was working as a mechanic at a Toyota dealer, a lube tech borrowed my shiny new impact gun to try it out. (Without asking of course) Of course, the idiot somehow managed to leave it in the customer's trunk, and I had no idea it happened until I went to use it. Man, I was pissed. Thankfully the customer was legit and called the service desk saying he'd bring it back the next day.

Not saying you should do anything in particular, but you could potentially make a Tech's day.

a service tech left his car keys sitting in my passenger seat one time. I could've kept it, stole his car, and sell parts off his car......but my conscious kicked in.

I find this to be true just in general these days. Seems like a lot of people lack common courtesy and giving a damn about anyone but themselves. (Thanks mom and dad)
