I wonder what your body kit and spoiler would look like with a really good paint match.

Traditionally on pearl white cars if you try to paint match the kit, it looks off and doesn't match 100% exactly.

If a competent shop could really pull off a perfect match, I bet it would look sweet.

Maybe just something to keep in mind if you ever feel like switching up your look.

I feel like all of the black parts actually makes the car look nice. I personally despise white cars in general, but there are a few that look ok/good,mainly because of black accents that break up the void of no color.

I agree! I would prefer body kit and spoiler in the same color. Black on white body parts look too aftermarket.

I noticed after my post. You also have black spoiler on white, right?

Installed a nice new auto dimming rear view mirror. (Subaru OEM version) Why this is not a standard feature on the FRS/86 is beyond me. I no longer get blinded when big frackoff truck rides my bumper. Also has the compass feature however as my navigation system already has this I turned it off.

Next question is should I upgrade the wing mirrors? I have the 860 edition so not sure what affect it will have on the style of the side mirror. (if any)

Interesting upgrade, how did you wire it up?

It's a simple plug and play. The wiring plug is in the lining a few inches to the right of the interior light.

You need two OEM parts and a star screw driver.

Rear view auto dimming mirror Subaru Part H501SVA200.
Mirror mount adapter: H501SSA041

Mirror comes with all parts you need including an adapter to plug it into the existing harness plug in the liner.

Install is simple:

1. Remove the old mirror (Turn to left and pull down
2. Pull the interior light assembly down, as if you were replacing the light bulb.
3. Locate the harness plug a few inches to the right of hole you just created.
4. Add the adapter plate to the existing mirror mount. (Two little bolts). I used some thread-lock on the bolts to ensure they do not come loose.
5. Mount and lock the new mirror to the adapter. (a little hex nut).
6. Push the power cable into the headliner where it meets the windshield. There is plenty of flex in the liner to make room for the plug and cable.
7. Connect one end of the cable adapter to the plug in the liner and the other end to the mirror plug you just put into the liner.
8. Push the supplied cable cover into position above the mirror. This hides the cable you just pushed into the liner.
8. Put the interior light cover back into position
9. Turn the mirror on..

DONE.

P.S. If you intend to use the compass you will set your GPS zone and drive in circles for about five turns, the instructions are included with the mirror.

Took me about 15 minutes and that included me getting tools checking every little detail to ensure I fully understood what was involved.

P.S.S When plugging in cable adapter make sure the power is turned off. The power to the mirror is disabled when turned off so you do not need to worry about blowing fuses etc.
