Either Borla XR-1 Race Header will mate to OE over-pipe with OE catalytic converter. IIRC, this setup complies with SCCA AutoX STX rules. Running above setup would be 2-3 dBA quieter than our full XR-1 Race System.

This video is FULL XR-1 Race System (no cats). SAE J1492 sound test over 96dBA.

That's all well and good, but there are 2 cats in the BRZ. One is in the header and 1 is in the overpipe. I imagine both would need to be in place to pass emissions.

What about those who want a full aftermarket system and don't want the restrictive OEM cats, but still ned BOTH to pass emissions? I know plenty of other companies who are making catted front/overpipes. That's why I want a catted header that isn't as restrictive as the OEM catted unit.

Check your state laws regarding emissions. We're aware of the OE setup.
Also, Borla does not make or sell catalytic converters. They are restrictive
and reduce performance in a race exhaust system. Our full XR-1 Race System is designed for off-road-use only.

Uh, nobody makes a catted header for this car. You probably won't pass a sniffer even with high flow cats. You will pass a computer check with 1 cat and the proper hardware/software installed. Just buy the borla system with someone else's catted midpipe.

That diffuser is the hotness!

At $3200 before shipping I stand by my statement. That header is basically unobtainable. You'd probably have better luck having a shop make you a bespoke set stateside. I'm aware that Perrin and Nameless have at least prototyped catted headers, AFAIK none have been released yet.

I'm well aware of my state laws, thank you very much. Thanks for letting me know that I won't need to worry about spending my money on your system.

Do you run emissions testing on vehicles? If no one would ever pass using high flow cats why bother making them? As far as what system I may eventually buy, that's up to me to dictate where my money is speant.

You most likely won't pass a smog inspection with an aftermarket high flow cat. It really depends on how your state tests. High flow cats will still take plenty of emissions out of the exhaust and your car won't smell like crap. High flow cats can usually stand up better than stock cats to hotter EGTs so you can lean out your fuel maps without fear of cat failure. Honestly, I plan to run 1 high flow cat because I don't want to gag out everyone around my car for a handful of HP. It's not a race car.

And I was just making a suggestion, calm down. Of course it's up to you, what I am some kind of internet jedi?

The UEL header is for a turbo EJ motor. You can tell from the upturned flange. But it wouldn't take much to turn it into a FA header.

I like the diffuser design.
