2015 Series.Blue Engine "Chirp"and 2nd Gear Grind

So i bought a 2015 Series.Blue manufactured in March of 2014.

The injector pump chirp is still there (obviously they haven't fixed it) but the car idles fine- nice and steady.

When it was new the transmission was good (no grinding at least). First car I've driven that had flywheel chatter...doesn't go away till about 2500 RPM

Since then, it's got a Kartboy short throw and a perrin rear mount. About 1700 miles on the clock so far and 2nd gear grinds probably 4/10 upshifts. Changed the fluid out (was a little dark and some metal on the drain plug) and filled with with the Pentosin fluid. When its works it feels like butter- 200% better feeling than stock, but I still get 4/10 grinds with upshifts.

The weird part about is, at medium-high RPM the transmission is butter smooth 100% of the time. Low RPM shifting (sub 3500) is where I get the grinds in 2nd/3rd.

I'm thinking the tranny just needs more time to break in?

Other than the tranny (and "normal" Subaru engine noises), no other issues with the car that I've seen/read about on here. I assume I have a "new ECU" thus fixing the CEL/Track light/shudder problem.
I Love the car so far, I just hope the grind goes away completely. I think at the cars 1st scheduled maintenance, I'm going to switch to Redline MT90 with a quart of MTL

I find when driving around town, you want to throw 2nd and 3rd firm and slow. Be sure to be fully off accelerator and just as revs start to fall, throw it in. The accelerator has a bit of lag due to the electronic throttle so there could be still a slight bit of throttle being applied at the end when you lift off.

I can not understand why people with transmission problems try to fix it themselves. THE CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY. Bring it to the dealer. I got a brand new transmission because mine was grinding in fifth. The syncros in these transmissions are a well known issue.

Not saying I'm going to fix anything myself? Just waiting it out a little bit for everything to wear in. Other posts on this forum say that as the transmission ages the shifting gets better and better. When driving the car "hard" the transmission is warm butter smooth, so I don't think there is a problem. Just odd that it happens at low RPM and its not consistent.

1. people don't want stealership to touch their car
2. people don't want to waste their valuable time

i never seen a single car that 100% perfect transmission in my life even i drove my friends cars in past and now. if it's minor issue, i just deal with it.
everyone think and maintain car differently.

OP, since your is new new, i would just visit dealer and inform them you're having issue with gear grinding.

I also have a 2nd gear issue. Not so much a grind, but it's really notchy. I can't really "speed shift"/"power shift" second because it seems to hang up.
I'm not sure if switching fluids will fix my issue. I hate to waste the money on changing the fluid and the problem still being there, then subaru fixing the tranny anyways.

Like a wife that nags a little too much, I've grown to like the slight grind/notchiness of 1st-->2nd. It means shit is happening.

My second gear needs to be warmed up before it will shift smoothly. When the car was new, I went in to second really slowly when the car was cold. 5000km later, its smooth as butter 99 percent of the time

Maybe I need to be more patient. Mine is obnoxious going into 2nd and sometimes 3rd when it is even remotely cold. As has been mentioned, revving it higher helps a bit. I switched to Subaru Extra S at 3500 mi but it hasn't helped much. I've driven sticks my whole life and baby the car when cold. Factory trans fluid still came out looking like mercury. It was depressing.

I get a supercharger installed in a week or two, so I guess it's now or never regarding having the dealer look at it.

I never noticed it until I went to the track the first time. Shift hard/fast and you might feel it.

I even have the notchyness sometimes when I park and try to put it into second.

The tranny just needs time from my experience. I received my car Oct 2012. Shifts much smoother and feels much better now. No fluid change or tranny parts. No more issues with getting into second or third gear when cold. Fourth feels a little crunchy at times, but I can live with that.

my stock 2015 series blue transmission had no issue so far (1600 miles). the transmission smooth out after break in period. could be your shortthrow mod cause the issue?
