The carpet trapped the litter, but a hard surface might require them to spread out their toes more too, so we will see. I need to hang the doors and paint it still, but I finished the major work. The old man in his winter sweater will appreciate the upgrade.
So it's an indoor, two holer out house for cats. Seems like a lot work...
I think dogs are better. Or, at least easier. Take 'em for a walk, they get to do their business and I get some exercise. That's a win, win in my book.

Easier? I think not.

Take them for a walk. Pick up their crap. Carry crap for rest of walk. Dispose of crap. Every single crap.

Vs

Dump accumulated crap in bag. Throw out bag.

He has more hideous ones. If he looks smaller and emaciated in this picture it is because he is because we had just found out he has diabetes.

Cat profiles: My wife named them after UFC fighters. First is Thiago aka Mr Thogs. The grouchy old man. Slightly blind and a diabetic. Talks a lot. Opens doors. Smart, but blind enough, so he always thinks the black cats are sneaking up on him so he hisses a lot. He also talks the most and interacts the most. He is very dependent and needs attention and rubs. He will do anything to get food or attention, including sitting on his brother, although he probably doesn’t see him half the time.

Lyoto aka Mr Looty was a runt, so he eats and drinks a lot and is now the biggest. He is the youngest and acts that way. He is the most independent and gets ibto trouble running around, knocking stuff over, eating the fake plants, playing with the blinds, etc. He doesn’t like to be picked up or held on anyone else’s terms. He is in direct rivalry with Thiago, and is best friends with his other brother Kobe. He loves making a bed out of anything. He likes to hang his arms off the side of counters and shove himself in small boxes. When he sleeps he sucks on his arm loudly like a child sucking its thumb.

Finally we have Kobe aka Mr Kobe Kobe. He is a fraidy cat. He is also in love with his older brother Mr Thogs, who he is going out with unofficially because Mr Thogs won’t admit it. His best friend is Mr Looty. He is a little sissy baby. He is dependent on his mother and gets very jealous if she (my wife) has anyone else on her. He is a clutz, partially because his feelers on his feet give him no traction. He is so fluffy that he spreads his legs and waddles when he walks. He occasionally bursts into a skip or double step while he is walking. He loves chips and catnip. He sleeps with his tongue out and snores. He likes to choke himself by hanging his neck on the edge of something.

The wife. She would be an animal and would have all the animals if she could and would be a professional animal face petter if she could. Doesn’t matter if a goat is eating he hair or whatever she is happiest with animals. Animals and nature.

More animal pictures from her and our family’s pets. She calls the cats her baby titties instead of kitties—tittie tats. I don’t know. The obsession started young.

I like and have owned both but prefer not to live with either, frankly. Cats are less destructive, don’t bark, need less attention, generally shed less than most dog breeds, etc.

Cats crap in the house, they throw up hair balls, shed hair, climb on everything, like to knock stuff off the counter, scratch stuff up, are less likely to obey you, can’t go out as easy to outings, etc.

My vet, since retired, once said that he'd never have a cat since they can transmit some disease(s) to humans. I didn't ask him to explain since I didn't have a kitty at the time (cat scratch fever?), but it made such an impression that I haven't had one since. Well, that and my wife is allergic to them.

I don't know about the less destructive part. One neighbor did a big remodel "after the last cat died". Carpet, curtains, hardwood floors, cabinets and countertops that somehow his four cats tore up.

Not that dogs couldn't do the same or worse like chewing through a door if they have separation anxiety, but indoor cats need toys, diversions, and discipline. J/K about discipline.

All I'm gonna say is that it seems wrong to be posting pictures of anyone's wife in a 'pets' thread.

But to each their own

I don't know. I don't think I would want to piss her off!

Pretty sure he is married to 1970s Sissy Spacek
