Great, now I have "Pencil Thin Mustache" stuck in my head...

Be thankful it was released. It was in serious jeopardy.
It is heavier and will be more expensive.

I'm very thankful the car was released. Are you?

I'm not saying you're not allowed to have negative opinions, and I'm not saying you need to be completely sworn to the car, but I think there's a fine line between having a negative opinion and just being excessively pessimistic. Just let people be excited for the car.

As for the expenses, unless you're a Toyota insider, you don't know whether it will be more or less expensive. If it is more, I'd wager that it wont be by much. It would be astronomically more expensive if they chose to put a turbo on the car, which they didn't. All their changes were quite conservative and they stuck with the formula, which I appreciate.

It's also estimated to be ~80lbs heavier, which is actually very good considering they added the FA24 as well as Subaru's Eyesight. You forgot to add that the car is still under 2900 and they reduced the COG even more despite this.

You're well within your rights to express dislike of the 2nd gen (which you've already made very clear), but it just gets really annoying to have it shoved down people's throats every time there's new info that's released. I wish people could take some time to acknowledge the good that they've done instead of constantly nitpicking what they hate and what's not good enough. Sports cars are already a dwindling market and you should be happy that there's a company out there still trying to make these things. Unfortunately there will always be armchair racers who will never be satisfied.

The fact is, the GR86 as it appears right now is objectively better than the current 86.

Ah didn't see the Tibby pic (work computer).
I wish they'd gone with an inverted triangle shape for the taillights (sorta like the Gen 1 tails) - would give us a bigger trunk opening and (IMO) look better than these generic/bland Acura lights.
And it would hearken back to the FT86 Concept 1

If the 2022 does actually have a pencil moustache, that leaves the 2017+ riding that fine line.

Yes I am happy to see a new release even if I don't care for it one bit (yet. My opinion may change when I get to see a real one.
If you read everything I have said instead of picking and choosing what you HATE you would find that I have been and continue to be a major ambassador for this platform. I just don't like the looks of the new pre riced, boy racer special BRZ.

I don't "hate" anything that is a new thing that people like to say when others don't agree. The bulk of my objections to new "info" is that it is not info at all. It is myth, misunderstood or just plain made up bullshit. I will call out what I feel is bullshit until proven wrong.

80 pounds heaver is heavier no matter how you want to justify it. The eyesight is only on the Ats and weighs about a pound. The lower COG has nothing to do with the overall weight of the car.

As far as my thoughts and speculation (I can do it to you know) on things such as where it would be produced or if it will cost more goes no I am not a Toyota insider. I am however a senior manager in a top 3 automotive parts manufacturing company and have been doing this for 30 years. Sometimes the data will change and what I predicted will be wrong but you will find that the majority of the time the information I have is far more accurate than the clickbait sites that make shit up. The big difference is that I can not say what I do know or where it came from or I will end up on the streets and never work in the industry again.

The irony of all this is that the guys that know the least are the first to jump in and scream "hater" whenever there is something said that they don't like.

Like all the people that said that photoshop based upon one headlight and the 17 bumper grafted onto it looks just like the real thing?
