Update on the BRZ. This weekend I installed the HIC rear window visor. I absolutely love the way it improves the look of the BRZ. After the install, I also put in some smoked vinyl overlays for my rear tail lights. That actually was harder than I thought it would be. After heating the overlays I was able to get them to fit over the clear. With those installs done I am really starting to like how my BRZ is coming together. The installs really give it that OEM+ look.

After the installs I went to Cafe 86 in Chino, California to check out the meet that was happening with ae86 / brz / 86. Anyways, if you want to check out the install video check out my link.

Glad to see you took my overlay suggestion to heart I LOVE how it changes the OEM 17+ tails.

So the overlays were harder than it looks. It was my first time doing it though, and I’m probably going to reorder them and redo it. It’s super simple once you get the hang of it. The left tail light looks way better than the right tail light

Found this thread and your videos and really like what you are doing with the car. RCE are awesome to work with, I have bought things from them from previous cars.

Keep it up and love the autoX videos, as this is what these cars are made for.

I have two daughters one who is interested in cars (she just turned 11) and I will show her some of your videos.

Alright guys, BRZ update time! So I had my heart set on some 949 6UL 17x9 wheels, and attempted to contact all the local vendors in the area for either the tungsten finish or beryllium finish, yet was told by all the vendors they are all sold out of that size and finishes.

On top of that, the vendors also said they weren't expecting a new shipment for those wheels until mid 2019.

So with that bummer news, I had to go back to the drawing board. Luckily, I found a great deal on some wheels that I really wanted all along, yet were priced out of my budget, Wedsport TC105N in 17x9 +35.

A local member, and 86Cup participate named Filip was selling his spare set of TC105N's with minimal wear for a great price! Apparently the wheels were formerly Julio of 86Cup's set. So based on that, I pulled the trigger and purchased the wheels.

I made a short video of my purchase on my youtube channel. If you guys want to see that, check out my video below

Also, since I'm super impatient, I had to do a mock up on my BRZ to see how they would look. I cannot wait to buy tires and get these installed. They really do compliment the lines and look of the 86 platform. Anyways thats it for my update this week, many things are planned for my BRZ and other projects, most of which I cant talk about yet... Safe to say 2019 will be awesome!

Love my smoked tails too... and yes I had to attempt the overlay a few times to get it perfect enough!

Good choice. TC105s are better anyways.

I wouldn't worry too much about the knicks/dings unless they interfere with the tire bead....however, I would highly recommend getting that one wheel straightened and with it bent I hope you got a really good deal on them; like a stinking deal of the century.

I would think used, blemished and bent, you got the set for 1/2 of new or no more than $275-300/wheel.

Can't wait until you figure out our tire dilema.

Do you or can you get away with Ultra/high performance Summer in LA?
Do you need a Ultra/high performance all-season for the occasional rain storm or trip up into the mountains?

Not knowing your budget and what you consider loud is, it is tough to say what is best.

did you say 235/40s or 245/35s?

Filip’s good people. That set he had was a smoking deal. I would liked to have grabbed them with the stuff I got from him but I didn’t have time to make the drive from Phoenix. I bought what was reasonable to ship lol.
