I see your points guys but I figured no matter what that performance cars (parts) would cost more than the luxury version. I'm basing this off from past cars that I've seen cost more by any car brand does or most do.
What ever the price is going to be its still going to be pretty expensive and I love how they returned back to good ole style.

And? how would that stop them from introducing new model/trims later on?

looking at this car just makes me wanna shout....crazy things, because it looks o so so good. funny to think i had a die cast Viper when I was kid. all i could do was dream of driving one someday. one of cousins in NM has one he bought new back in '95. i'll have to give him a call and tell him it's time to upgrade.

I didn't say that would stop them from introducing new trim. There might be a stripped version, but not this time. There "might" be.

transmission: i know all you folks are manual lovers, but they could have added a world class dual clutch tranny as an option and put the world on notice. but again, they didnt

infotainment: this car once had no ABS and no TC/SC. it now has a touchscreen infotaiment with 18 speakers and a place to put your ipad. really?

price: the word on the street is around $140k. now the viper was never cheap, but damn 140 is kinda high for this car. they could have lower the price by cutting out the "luxury" crap.

This car is just pure sex. Will just need to start saving up so that I can afford one that is 7-8 yrs old with ~20,000 miles on it. This care looks great. Not sure why anyone would pick a LFA over this if they had a choice. Viper with more power, torques, similar weight and faster on a track.

Not sure why anyone would buy either with the frs on its way. they say that thing comes with tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of dollars in the trunk

Cause if you had the money, they are "better" cars. Remember a budget car has to cut corners. A budget car works within certain perameters. This Viper is the most performance that could be put into a car with the price of low $100k.

i know and i agree. but there is plenty of room for a super overpriced lfa as long as the viper isnt a lexus. if i could afford any of this crazy nonsensical junk that were talking about i would probably just buy an ls600 and an atom or something. the whole sports luxury thing is stupid to me because its full of compromise and excess cost in searching for counterintuitive ends.

while people dont talk about it, dodge really does know how to build a sports car

^ I wouldn't really call the Viper luxurious. Dodge just did enough to keep up with their main competitors. Who spending this much on a car really wants a gutted interior with a metal floor and plexiglass windows? Looking at the weight, I would say they did a great job making sure it didn't get too bloated.
