While not quit up to RE71R, it's in the same group and priced better - a pretty good peerformer in the 200TW group. That seems a reasonable tire? Then again, for the probable uses, it may still be junk. Still should be up to some HDPE runs.

I've always loved the Viper - wanted one since I first saw it, and saw my first one as it cruised by during my graduation party (we had a pig roast.) The performance has improved, but some day if I get a garage to support collecting, I might just have to seek out one of those early versions.

Ironically, the original front end looks an awful lot like the Miatas do now.

ACR should have used front fender vents more like the GT3/GTD car

Of course. The image still makes me chuckle and hopefully a few other people as well. Sort of like the wee wing on the back of a One-77. Of course it is functional and efficient, but it still looks silly compared to the width of the car. Sort of the anti-Viper ACR wing.

If they aren't, at least it will be a fantastic deterrent for anyone who may rear-end the thing.

The ACR is probably the best combination of speed and track reliability that you can buy...at any price.

2016 Viper ACR beats million dollar hyper cars in any track they've tested

I can hear the fanboys go "meh it's a Dodge, not JDM yo" ..
"yeah but refinement is not there, it's not a Porsche (with German pronunciation) "

Just when I thought no production car could possibly be faster than one of the next-gen hybrid hypercars, the ACR shows up kickin it old skool and romps the 918 at Laguna Seca by 1.24 seconds.

Insane.

Also, what kind of superhuman reflexes does Pobst have? Christ.

exactly my thoughts using the 640hp and 1:28 lap time in Laguna Seca sounds dangerous enough

So, the lesson here is that active aero is cool and all, but massive amounts of adjustable downforce is always a go to reliable solution for grip. And lots n lots of power with a freak of nature driver.

They set the production record at our track, too. 1:16.98. Add that to the to-do list of our Viper project!

same can be said for the Nismo GT-R, GT3/GT3RS and many other sports cars in the below list ..same track, same fast driver (Pobst).. the lesson here is fanboyism against American cars should end since 8 out of 10 cars in that top ten list is domestic let's admit these cars demolish the hyper cars that cost (in some cases) 10 times more

Here are some of the videos showing the record setting laps. They put up the previous lap time, then show the video of the ACR topping it. Not all videos are up yet, and list is longer than these 8 videos:
