Non LED recommendation for DRL

I'm kind of annoyed with my LED DRLs. They look good, but have zero functionality for where I live. What wattage bulb should I be looking for? Are halogens the only option? I know that HID bulbs aren't good for highs.

In order to be safely useful, your only option is halogens.

piaa or raybrig 9005 white bulbs have been great for me in the past, make sure you buy from an authorized retailer as there are many replicas out there for close to the same price, you DON'T want those

as far as color goes, what can i get thats closest to 5000k output? My headlights are 5000k, and id like all my lights to match. DRL, HID or halogen doesnt matter to me, just trying to get the look.

Would these be what you are talking about? I also want a whiter looking light, but still retaining the high beams. http://www.tirerack.com/lighting/detail.jsp?ID=1073

Haha, I forgot about this thread. I ended up ordering some from autolumination right before CTB responded. I didn't mention that I was looking for 6000K.

Stay away from Autolumination's 65W 9005 6000K bulbs. They are as yellow, if not more, than the stock DRLs.

Help me understand this. They are marketing these bulb as "6000K Super White" along with a few other color temperatures and their respective colors. Yes, they are halogen bulbs, but the response I got was, "All halogen bulbs have a yellow filament that glows thru thru the coloration. The only way to eliminate that is to use an HID system or led bulbs."

Am I stupid, or is this false advertising?

I guess, I'm sticking with my LED bulbs...

I would use them at fulk power excessively. 65w may be too much for the oem wiring. They shoukd work fine as DRLs = Hi beams at 1/2 power but as soon as you flick on your his youll be using the full 65w. Unless the oem hi's are 65w im not entirely sure.

If they're lighting up yellow then they aren't 6000k, no way around it and they should be taking them back on the premise of false advertising for colour temperature.
