Median age in the car business is always going to be in the 40's since the highest percentage of car buyers are over the age of 25 on to over 65.

Less than 1% of all new cars are purchased by persons under the age of 25, regardless of the market type.

Exactly my point. The article mentions it is five years younger than the industry average, but inline with economy compacts. The Civic is a daily for 80 year olds too. I don’t know what manufacturer is specifically targeting the youth. Scion? Honda with their Grom? I don’t know.

When attending the First86 event Jack Hollis made it very clear the target audience was "those with a youthful spirit" but there was no pretense it was aimed at those with a younger age. Basically, their goal was to lower the median age similar to what you see with Civic, from upper 40s to mid 40s as the Scion brand was supposed to be a gateway purchase to Toyota and Lexus.

They did accomplish that somewhat, in that at the time Scion started the median age for Toyota was 54 years old, and that of Scion was as low as 39 (as presented by Hollis, and as listed in Wikipedia.)

It would have better head room for rear passengers, increase the storage capacity and pull off the length much better, while making the Type R a Japanese CTS-V. That would have actually been cool.
Rather have an C43 Avantgarde.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a car everyone finds attractive that happens to be designed as if for young people, ego and status will make sure of that.

Everyone can go on and on about fake vents on the CTR, but if they were real, everyone would just find something else to complain about anyway, 'wing is too big hurr durr', 'hood scoop doesn't even route to engine bay, hurr durr'.

The car sold like absolute hot cakes. The same can't be said for cars that apparently look much better. To even reinforce that, just about everywhere I go, people need to tell me they love the car.. Now that could be anything, the look, what it stands for, or it's road/track presence, but it's clear people love it despite it's FaKe VeNtS, and they love to see it show up.

It's like you didn't even look at the 2020+ CTR's, the fAkE vEnTs are gone and replaced with some smooth(brain) black plastic, or are you still gonna call those fake vents for the sake of pride.

I've stated that the basic 10th gen Civic is ugly as sin (to me) so no, that doesn't change my opinion.

But as a refresher I also criticized the CTR as being too large and looking like a CUV.

I want Honda to make a retro Civic CVCC. I loved my green '77 5 door wagon.

Oh, and while they are at it a Prelude would be nice.

I really like the 2022 Hatchback, Reminds me of an Audi from the back. Civics have not exited me this much in the last 20 yrs!.

I definitely have the hatchi in mind as a replacement for my 14yr old fateful daily… but afraid they will cost more than I want to pay for a not so
Small car that will inevitably turn into being my all weather city beater.

Was at my local dealer for parts for the FIT and they had a 2022 Sedan, I find them quite big now and that fake stuff has been toned down quite a bit…

Honda fan boy rant follows:
I lost interest in Civics in the early-mid 2000’s, could not live with the Split dash concept they were trying and the rear was rather bland. Then the last Gen(10)
had way too many large fake things happening on the outside and they promptly lost me as a customer that was wanting an R. Still like seeing them out in the wild because
Maybe Honda will keep the concept happening in the future in NA, That look unfortunately never grew on me.
I had to buy a car rush in 2007 (my SIR theft finally happened) and the Fit that had just came out reminded me so much of my ‘89 EG which I had for 12 yrs. My first car was a 1978 5speed CiViC
My bro even used it for his Grad date & younger sister learnt some driving skills with it. Also had a short lived 81 Prelude(flipped it a few times in the rain) & had to wait
a few months to replace it with a new 83 Lude.(my parents used to borrow the Ludes for weekend rides and my dad hated manuals!)

I also like the HondaE, that thing reminds me of the Hondas of the early 70’s Z600/Civic.
Im really Missing the good fun small cars…

Integra over Prelude for me. But we'll never see either come back in the same vein .

Oh no, another one of you guys. I'm the real Honda fan boy here, and I'd like to challenge you to go count how many things are fake vs functional on the FK8. I'll give you a hint, you can count it with 4 fingers.

Really doubt you wanted a CTR.

Always had a Honda since 1977… were you born yet.

When Honda announced they would be selling a CTR in North America I had high hopes they were doing it for me!

I was really hoping they would bring something similar the rest of the world got in the past such as this:

NOPE LOL, but I am a foaming at the mouth fan I'll tell ya.

The FN2 is the most hated CTR I thought, and for good reason, something like that would've been DOA on American shores. The only thing going for it is 2 doors.
