Didn't see Gorilla glue epoxy mentioned. I'd try gluing flat head bolts like this down with it for a project like this. After a good scuffing prep course.

I did this on the 86, the opening isn’t ideal for a track setup but more than adequate to handle a lot of abuse for a street setup on a boosted 86.

I later added fans with switches I could turn on and off. The fans worked incredibly well almost too well for the street.

I combined it with the “oem” oil to water heat exchanger and 197f thermostat. Combined with the limited non direct air flow from smaller opening it warmed up to 170f in any weather conditions essentially as fast as stock. Then kept the oil nice and cool once thermostat started opening. Adding the fans just enhanced both of these factors. worked incredibly well overall.

Here’s a few pics. Bigger one is oil smaller one ATF.

Fair enough. Figured it could be cleaner and stronger than just glopping glue on it was all.

I just used a bead of JB Epoxy Adhesive Plastic Bonder fully around the outside edge of the mesh wire. The epoxy is black and hardens to pretty much blend perfectly with the bezel. Makes it look like it’s how it came from factory.

No worries,

Home depot by the wood/fencing stuff.

You can also stack 2 or 3 together if you wanted it more rigged, but because I have them mounted on different axis to each other and the oil cooler isn't that heavy it was stout enough for me, I also zip tied 2 anchor points on the bottom, so pushing on it pretty hard didn't budge it in any direction at all.

I used rivnuts to secure them to the vehicle. Drilled a hole in the crash bar for one side, the other side already had a perfect hole.
