We are running a sale on our Big Brake Kits so if you're looking for an upgrade, now is the perfect time to take advantage!

If you are looking to maximize your "bang for the buck," no other BRZ/FR-S big brake kit will even come close. Our Stage IV kit utilizes high quality two-piece DBA Subaru STi OEM size slotted brake rotors. We have seen many BRZ/FRS owners install STi Brembo calipers, but this will actually result in incorrect brake bias (excessive front brake torque)! After extensive testing to ensure proper brake bias, we selected the 6 piston differential bore Wilwood Forged Superlite calipers, which are radially mounted using our CNC machined brackets. Differential caliper piston bores ensure even pad wear under extreme conditions. The Forged Superlite calipers are anodized black for maximum temperature capability. The Forged Superlite calipers also allow for massive 0.8" thick brake pads for better heat capability and longer pad life (compared to 0.65" thick pads in our Stage I kit).

Please let me know if you have any specific questions or if you'd like a quote!
Will the carbotech 74201521 pads fit Stage IV front, and the matching hi bias rear?
Our tracks are closed for the season due to the ongoing fall of western civilization.

Picking up a set of these brakes soon, and had a few questions for any owners in relation to mitigating brake noise. Seems like lot of users are having issues with brake noise, but there are also a lot of variables in play.

First question, has anyone installed these brakes without any noise? (If so, what is your set up?)

Second question, are you using a two piece rotor, or just a solid rotor.

Third question do you only have the front kit, the front and rear kit, and if both is the noise coming from the front only, rear only, or both?

Fourth question, are you using any shims, and if so, which ones? Most pads that are made for these "race" calipers do not have any metal shims whatsoever between the pad and pistons. Are users installing any aftermarket shims, if so which ones, and have you seen success differences with using shims on both front and rear. For these rear calipers there aren't any bolt on shims that are made, so a custom or modified application has to be used.

Noise

Please note that we now offer Carbotech 1521 pads. Customers who tested them with our kits reported that they almost make no noise unlike the Wilwood BP10 and BP20 pads!

Ordered rears from RR due to them being slightly customized for there rear kit but the fronts I ordered from another site due to cost difference. Looking forward to having squeal free braking so I am not embarrassed for daily driving

First question, has anyone installed these brakes without any noise? (If so, what is your set up?)

With my street pads, I've got a very light squeal the last 10 ft before a stop, but otherwise silent in normal driving. Pushing hard in canyons or back roads, they start to screech above a certain temperature. If you cool them off for even a few minutes, they stop screeching. Setup is RR Stage 2 BBK in the front, OEM brakes in the rear. Front pads are Wilwood Polymatrix Q. Rear pads are OEM. The three things that helped immensely for me for noise were: 1) Use shims, 2) Use grease, and 3) Bed the brakes in hard. Dedicated rotors for each pad set would be even better.

My track setup (Wilwood BP-20 front pads, Carbotech XP-10 rear pads) squeal loudly when cold, but I don't notice any noise from them when hot.

Second question, are you using a two piece rotor, or just a solid rotor.

Solid rotor.

Third question do you only have the front kit, the front and rear kit, and if both is the noise coming from the front only, rear only, or both?

Front kit only.

With street pads, the light squeal (10 ft before a stop) is coming from the front.

With track pads, the cold squeal is coming from both ends.

Fourth question, are you using any shims, and if so, which ones? Most pads that are made for these "race" calipers do not have any metal shims whatsoever between the pad and pistons. Are users installing any aftermarket shims, if so which ones, and have you seen success differences with using shims on both front and rear. Using shims on the street setup. I'm can't remember where I got these from, but I didn't buy them separately. They might have come with the BP-20 pads.

So I went ahead and installed my kit this weekend. I went with the Hawk HPS front pads, wilwood polymatrix q rear pads and centric rotors off the PP BRZ. From this forum I noticed how the pad surface doesnt quite reach all the way to the painted surface on the rotors, so I used some VHT caliper paint (cutting a circle out of cardboard for the template) just to extend the painted surface out a bit to help prevent rust.

For the front and rear I ended up using wilwoods shims, however they did have to be modified to work with these pads. As you can see from the pics of the fronts, I cut the shims in half and extended them to where the piston was going to make contact with the pad. Then I used Loctite disc brake quiet on this surface (the "glossy" looking side is actually plastic that peels off to reveal a sticky substance on the other side.) I used that sticky surface to locate the shim on the caliper, then coated the piston side with the loctite. I did the same thing for the rears (which I just had to trim smaller to fit the smaller pads)

Front shims: WIL-300-8259
Rear shims: WIL-300-8460

So far at around 100 miles I do not have any noise yet ( *knock on wood*). Hopefully things stay that way!

Looks good my friend. I went with carbotech 1521s. In the process of installing them.

Yup. Much much better. 95% squeal free. Having a hard time bedding the back rotors. The fronts were pretty tight to get on there. Dusting is light compared to the bp-20s. I might get my rear rotors turned cause they still have a decent amount of the old pad material left on certain parts of the rotors. This is also no shims or grease as well.

Update on the Polymatrix Q pads. After a couple of canyon drives, the rotors started turning dark blue and I could see shiny glazing on the surface. Strong brake smell after each pass through the canyons. On the street, the pads were also getting significantly noisier due to the glazing on the rotors/pads.

So I switched back to my track pads for now. I still like how quiet the Polymatrix Q pads were for normal street driving, but they won't hold up to "spirited" canyon drives.

Stage IV 6 pot fronts and 4 pot Hi-bias rears, with the lightweight 2 piece rotors -

The Carbotechs are silent on the street so far, dry and wet weather.
Will report again after track sessions as to wear etc.

Good to know, did you install them with any shims/grease? So far with my set up ive only noticed squealing in the wet typically after the car has been sitting, but after the initial brake I usually dont hear anything.
