Raceseng camber plates/KONI
I'm having fitment issues with my Raceseng camber plates mounting on the KONI Yellows with lowering springs. Is anyone running a Raceseng plates with KONIs or Bilsteins with lowering springs? The top nut that mounts the top hat to the strut seems to be tightened all the way and there is still quite a bit of play with the spring. I tried burping the nut with an impact and even tried holding the piston with vice grips (with a rag of course) and the nut will not tighten anymore. I emailed Raceseng and they said they have no experience with working on KONIs which is weird since they sell a product that's supposed to work with KONIs. Is the spring supposed to sit loosely in the strut?

Did you get the ones with the 15mm spring perch bushing and the 90mm spring perch? That's what their website shows for the Koni's

Yes I got the option that's supposed to work with the KONIs straight from their website.

What kind of lowering spring?
Without seeing it, so take this all with a massive grain of salt: I presume your lowering springs are shorter than the stock springs, combine that with the raceseng plates which are lower profile than the OE top hats and now you have a gap between the spring and the top hat when you are in the air, the Koni's don't have anything to do with it, you'd have the same issue if you had the stock damper + lowering spring + raceseng camber plates. Easiest solution would be to have a 'taller' spring perch made to match how 'tall' the OE top hat is. Or you could just set it down on the ground and go drive it, odds are nothing bad will happen if this is truly what's going on. The joys of combining modifications. |
