Gave an ultimatum to the GM. Get the ship righted or I won't be here next year. He promoted someone to a manager position(and gave him a fucking raise) that wasn't ready and isn't getting it done. The amount of hours I have to work because of their screw ups causes me to work so many hours that by the hour, I am making less than that guy. In fact, last Friday he was hanging out in the parking lot with one of his staff hot boxing a car after work. I've taken over receiving for the warehouse because I am tired of the amount of mistakes that I have to fix, started Monday off with 3 that took me a couple hours to fix and one that wasn't even fixable. I like the place but it's not worth it if they can't address basic issues. I told him his weak leadership is dragging us down and he isn't going to have anybody left but those that can't work anywhere else if it continues.

I have two phone interviews set up with a company today.

I join the call for the 12pm one. 10 minutes go by, the scheduled engineer never shows.

So I drop off, email the recruiter, and say I've dropped off to grab water while I wait for her to figure out if the guy is still available.

After a few minutes, she called me and said he didn't come in to work (remotely either I guess) due to being sick.

I kinda get it on the dude's part, maybe he didn't feel up to logging on to Slack/Email to check his calendar.

But shouldn't the recruiter be looking at all interviews scheduled today and verifying that the interviewers will all be available (since anything can come up)? It's a very small startup, so it's not like she has tens or hundreds of interviews per day to keep track of.

I bet she works like 3 other jobs though. Startups tend not to have well-defined roles.

This is a Griffin

Griffon is just a normal lazy ass American way to spell something that just confuses them to do it right.

i dunno, i'd pay $89k for a new vehicle that didn't have the clunky tablet-on-dash. bonus points if it had a metal dash and a carb under the hood!
