I don't know what that is, but you just gave me a flash back to my corn detasseling days.

Back in DC and slammed with HW, but at least it's home. I got to drive the BRZ around finally I feel bad that the car gets to sit more than I wanted it to, I guess it's cruising time this weekend despite the HW YAY!

A cobb or 10,000. If I wanted anything as a kid (from about age 8 up to 13) growing and selling sweet corn was the only way I was going to get it. I pulled that little red wagon from door to door for 25 cents per dozen for countless dozens.

Yep, husking/shucking corn was just about as much fun as detasseling corn ..... you just didn't have to reach up as far ......

Well now, THAT reminds me of a back-in-the-day story back in Missouri.

I had a research plot of sweet corn down on the river bottom. So, I had planted an extra large check plot (no pesticides) so I would have some for home use.

Come time, I rounded up my three kids and we took our pickup truck down and picked about a half a pick up load of sweet corn.

When we got back, the kids asked if they could sell some in the neighborhood. I said sure. They started off by pulling a little red wagon. Later I heard the riding lawn mower running and they had hooked up the garden wagon.

After about 3 hours they had almost sold all the corn that was in the truck.

Yep, they were ...... rich ! .......

Well there is little doubt that pirates probably had something to do with the Afrikaans language so they both work.
