All that I can think of is to dump any air pressure so it doesn't confuse the MAF sensor and stuff up the mixture?

Not exactly sure if it works but essentially the theory I'm getting from the translation is since the holes are at the top it will reduce the chances of hydro-lock in flooding or inundated conditions.

I left that one out to aviod being abused and the top edge of the intake is so high it would only work for a very limited level which would probably write the car off anyway as it floated before sinking.

Im assuming for water removal. I think that is one of the main purposes of the resonators aside from... well.... resonating.

I always though a velocity stack design was the optimal design for high flow (which is what the stock tube is). What's the science behind this being better on a stock engine?
