Has anyone taken pics of exactly what they have had to do to the inside of the rear fenders for the 18x9.5_255/35 setup to work?
I know "cut the fenders." But I'm curious to see exactly what the few have done to make it work. |

Am I overthinking it to say needing to compromise and go for an 18x9 is silly? The previous gen ran 18x9.5s well. Would that loss of 0.5" matter at all on track?
We got horsepower and lost wheel width. |

Okay, so I plugged in some numbers in WheelItFit. Obviously the wheel to vehicle isn’t accurate anymore, but comparing two wheels still works.
We know the following 17x9 setup works well (Thanks Tr4ck_day!!) 17x9 et42 245/40/17 on coilovers with 2.5 camber and 1.5 drop compared to: 18x9.5 et45 255/35/18 on coilovers with 2.5 camber and 1.5 drop with these differences: 18x9.5 setup has 3mm more poke 18x9.5 setup has 4mm smaller fender gap 18x9.5 setup is 10mm closer to strut 18x9.5 setup is 8mm larger overall diameter (1.28% difference) @Tr4ck_day can you help confirm if the following differences would cause problems? Thank you |

Correct They increased the rear end track by a few mm. Thats why folks with 18 9.5 +35 are having issues. The front end seems to be the same as before so a +35 fits up front and a +45 is what to get in the rear.( I’m running PS4S which tend to run wider than most tires) Again At my height with 2.2 camber all around I have no issues. I’m running whiteline rear control arms. Kw V3 all around and vorshlog top hats up front. I’m also running a bit of toe in all around (just a tad)

Thanks for the pic! Looks great. Do you have the rear control arms to control the rear camber? Do you know what the rear camber would be if you hadn’t changed the rcas?

Without the control arms you have no adjustability for camber. On my 2013 Scion FR-S without control arms one side had about -3 degrees of camber and the other side had -2.6. Without control arms you will most likely rub. Ride height will sort of dictate your camber without the arms.
