The current standard is a PSA test. And yes, it will make your car faster.

Good thing my PCP is a woman.
The first exam I got was a female Physician who had to have been 10 months pregnant. She kept bumping me with her unborn child. It wasn't as fun as it sounds.

Is that a fact or just a theory by way of the butt dyno?

sounds to me like she would be plotting payback to any male that showed up at that point.

Actually, a DRE has a much greater impact on butt dyno readings.

I'd imagine it could skew the results based on the amount of lubricant used.

In my experience, yes. Quality mattered, too. 1960 vintage Amalie 30wt made the dyno much more erratic. A good, full synthetic Euro 0-30 was much more likely to yield consistent results.

Damn... I went to EMT Doctor's to unclog one of my ear and she struggled with her belly (like 8-9 months or so) trying to get good angle to introduce all those metal scissors.

Surprised she didn’t use coarse valve lapping compound. That is when you KNOW she’s in passive aggressive mode.

I'm feeling pretty frustrated about work today.

My team has been working on a new online service since before I started in September.

Usually in software when you transition to using a new service, you have a bunch of testing in place to catch problems, especially in the lead-up before the transition period.

So in October, I noticed we don't have something called "load testing" (basically imagine if ft86club got bombarded with login requests and the site crashed; load-testing would help clue in the admin to how many requests the site could take until it crashed, when people got errors, etc.).

So I suggested at the time to the team we should spend some resources (aka time/effort) into setting up a load test system/plan.

I get told it'll take too much time/effort and isn't worth it.

Fast-forward to this past week, we've been opening up the service internally basically just to employees for now. A subset of those people are getting errors.

We were supposed to start incrementally adding external (real customer) traffic this week and now we keep pushing it back while we figure out what those errors are and how to fix them.

And it's like, people on my team are saying "let's just do 1%, 5% of customer traffic anyway and see if we keep getting an increase in those errors at the same time."

Being more customer-minded, this is super frustrating. If we'd set up a load test environment and stuff months ago, we could've been setting up fake customers with the types of settings we think are causing the errors, and then ramp-up fake load against our new service. This would've let us test outside of production (real customer) traffic at rates we could decide on our own without affecting customers.

Meanwhile in general I've had a difficult time ramping up because a lot of things on this team are new to me, and I feel like the type of stuff I do understand/have experience/have background in were basically dismissed.

At that time in October, one of my coworkers agreed with me and mentioned it to our boss, and then in my weekly 1:1 with my boss he asked if I wanted to discuss it with him, so I mentioned my feelings on it, and then he said the same spiel how we couldn't do it now but "write it down and maybe we can get to it once the service is launched."

Very helpful.
