They would probably go completely Red Queen on you. That thing is like 1000mm FX equivalent, right? Lol

The Sky Sports F1 broadcast team for the 2023 Formula 1 season will not include Johnny Herbert or Paul Di Resta. WTF?
They keep the likes of Karun Chandhok (and some others I have little to no use for) while dropping two legitimate racers who have proven commentary skills. |

The only thing I know Karun for other than that is that he's helping design or new track here.

2 days until pre-season testing! Really curious to see how teams managed to improved their vehicles.

Was kinda surprised to see Merc stuck with the zero sidepod. It seemed like they were indicating going a more traditional direction towards the end of last year for this year. Season predictions anyone?

I see Mercedes lagging at least a step behind RB. It seemed, towards the end of the season, that they finally started to figure it out vs a team already had it figured out and was constantly improving from there. That's about it, lots of moving parts in the off season so at least by the 2nd testing day I would have a slightly better idea.

LS got really lucky. Preseason training killed Nicky Hayden.

The great Niki Lauda would have celebrated his 74th birthday on this day.
Pic was taken in Montreal either 1984 or 85 (TAG sponsor) with a 300mm On Kodak Tri X 400 possibly pushed either to 800 or 1000 ISO back when there was a lot less fencing to be in my way. He had not much luck in those years on the Montreal circuit with DNF or RET. |

Pretty sure I met him (NH) once early in his career. I've been told he was a nice guy. A number of the elite bike racers were/are. I spent a bit of time in the pits with Freddy Spencer, Doug Polen, and met Colin Edwards a couple of times as their stars were climbing. Good guys.
