2017+ 86 Aftermarket Diffuser on a 2013 FR-S?

Hey everyone, was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I'm having. I'm looking into getting a new diffuser for my 2013 FR-S since the setup I have currently I'm not too thrilled with. Was going to buy a diffuser I found on BaysonR's website which I'll link below. In the product description it says it's for a 2017-2020 Toyota 86, and I emailed them and asked if it would be possible to fit it onto a 2013 FR-S and they just said it isn't compatible and didn't really give a reason. So I'm wondering are the two bumpers similar enough to where this diffuser would fit? I do know that the matte black plastic OEM diffuser is slightly different between the two cars, but that would have to be modified anyways to accommodate the new diffuser... Any help greatly appreciated!

The diffuser mentioned --> https://baysonr.com/products/17-up-t...st-abs-plastic

look at the ribs on either side of the reverse light. the '13-16 ribs are larger. given that the kit piece fits over the top of those ribs, it's going to take a ton of fab work to change.

Thanks for the response. Now that the 2013 rear bumper is out of the question. Does anyone know if it is possible to mount up a 2017 86 rear bumper to a 2013 FR-S? I would need to get the diffuser painted and if I need a new rear bumper too I could have the shop do both at the same time.. I've looked around a bit and I'm not sure if anyone on here has already done it or not.

i believe it should be possible. the overall vehicle structure didn't change much over the years, so most of the parts should clip together

Sweet, I'll continue searching around to see if anybody has actual done it (ngl it wouldn't make sense to do so unless you're kind of in my situation) but I'll keep looking. Appreciate the help, and if anyone on here has actually done it and can confirm it would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the unnecessary correction?... Didn't really help anything, but to end the thread I found a video of someone in the exact same situation and the rear diffuser/lip doesn't properly fit the 2013-2016 bumper.

TLDR: Mounting a 2017 Toyota 86 Rear Bumper on a 2013 Scion FR-S is possible. Just would like to verify that for anyone wondering. Also I called BaysonR and they said they've tried fitting the specific diffuser/lip I mentioned on a 2013 and it didn't fit. So yes the two bumpers are different but they are interchangable.

So by your logic.
If I call a YZ-250 a car that makes it one. Got it.
Also since I tried to correct you since you clearly didn't know the difference. Pretty sure I helped alot. The right thing to do would be to realize you and places like LB fucked up. Then say you wanted either a Lip or a Diffuser.

After that. We can spoon feed you Goggle searches.

Happy BaysonR replied. Since That should have been done 1st.
