Tomei Straight Pipe

Hi guys,

I was thinking of getting a Tomei Powered titanium straight pipe for my first gen 2014 Toyota GT86. My car is Automatic.

On the Tomei website however, they go out of the way to write that their straight pipe is for the GT86 Manual.

https://www.tomei-p.co.jp/catalogue/ti-sp_86brzfrs/

I cant imagine there would be any difference fitting this to an automatic vs the manual, but if I am wrong, please provide some insight. As far as I know, the OEM front pipe is exactly the same on the AT as on the MT.

I am well aware that it's not legal to use on the regular road, but here in Tokyo they're not so strict regarding these things and I am keeping my stock parts to revert to for the bi-annual inspection.

I want to add that going a full Tomei system is loud as heck. As for fitment, I cannot confirm it as I haven't used the parts.

What catback would you pair this with? I have the Tomei 60R on my car and it is on the cusp of being too loud.

The tomei 80r for manual will not fit into your automatic as it does not account for the transmission housing of the automatic.

Aren't the stock front pipes on the AT and MT exactly the same? Is the Tomei one different to where it fits only the MT and not the AT?

Aftermarket ones aren't all compatible, the AT is a larger bell housing (I think that's the term idk) and some of the front pipes make contact with them.

Would also never pay that amount for something that has 0 R&D in it.
Over $400 bucks for some straight tubing.
Just have a good muffler shop make it. It'll be cheaper.

The pipe diameter for the tomei is 3 in so it's hard to compare it to stock. One local guy experienced this already where his tomei did not fit his auto 86 so he had to go to a local exhaust shop to re fabricate the pipes.
