Direct Injectors stuck replacement tool?
Hey everyone like the title says I'm currently replacing my direct injectors on my brz that has 185k miles on it. I've watched a few videos on removing them and everyone's seem to just pop right off but mine are really stuck. Did a little research and saw bmw's, vw's, and audi's all have a special tool basically a slide hammer to help remove stuck direct injectors. So do we have a tool similar to help with removal? Or does anyone have any tips to get them out? I just really stuck and wasn't expecting them to be this hard to remove.

I haven't because I don't know what it would do the inside of the engine. Would it cause any harm to the engine if some got in it?

How'd you get yours out? Just brute force by hand or any tools?

Nope. All good, but I've never done this specific job so I don't know if it'll help.

Did a quick google search seems to be ok since guys spray spark plugs with WD-40 to remove them and the direct injectors sit right over top of them. I'll give this a shot.

As far as the outside of the engine, stuff like penetrating won't hurt anything. Bubba says it will just help keep the engine from rusting - |

So I was able to remove 2 of them last night using some WD-40, PB-blaster, and a pair of vice grips. Bent one of the injectors pretty good but I'm replacing them all anyway. Surprisingly the seals were fine but the injectors themselves were covered in grime and dirt. My car was running rich so this might explain that. I'm thinking the injector had to work extra hard to push through the grime so it added more fuel to overcome it.

Did you replace any of the fuel lines? Or did you just reuse them? If you did reuse them how many miles do you have on your car?

I reused my hp lines. (100k miles). I put a dab of pipe dope on the threads for reassembly. Maybe not completely necessary but, what the hey. No problems after 2000 miles.
