So what's up with the flex bars that STI puts on a bunch of cars? Factory snake oil?

Who knows but I’d like to think it’s legit. When you turn the car, the chassis wants to “spread” but like the stock V bars, the flexible bars resist this motion. However, the flexible bars will flex on vertical impacts (pot holes)

I am sure there is something there if you could see the FEA on the car that we can't by bench racing on a forum.

ORDERS of magnitude greater slop in the elastomeric suspension components than that which can be measured between the strut towers. Any strut tower brace mounted over factory top hats is hilarious.

Maybe if all the rubber was first replaced with spherical joints, there might be some measurable effect of a strut brace.

Those TRD dampers? Put them in a box with the door jamb braces. What people do to make a buck is amazing.

There's actually videos somewhere of the doors flexing/moving during autocross runs.

Edit:

Edit:
IDK if that's a good comparison. Is it showing chassis flex, or the door moving around? The door has 3 fairly flimsy connection points and the tension is from the weather seals.

Anyone can open their window, reach out, and feel the door moving around while changing direction.

Well in regards to this being "functional" or whatever: https://www.rallysportdirect.com/par...oor-stabilizer

It seems like it does actually address something.
