TRD Road Stefner/Stiffener

I’m back again window shopping at TRD Japan parts, and I’ve seen absolutely nothing posted on the ‘TRD Road Stefner’. Part number is MS306-18001. I think through translation (not done by me), it is technically called something else though. My question is does anyone know what it specifically does and have any feedback on it? I currently have the braces from the TRD Member Brace Set on, and this would replace two of those braces, so I’m wondering if spending a few hundered on this part will actually make a difference. TIA

These look identical to the STi flexible draw stiffener. You are right, these will replace 2 of your OEM TRD braces with "flexible" braces. Worth the extra couple hundred? Maybe. These new braces will flex when hitting big bumps, but will be stiff when taking hard turns. Gotta pay to play to have this kind of flexible bracing.

P.S. I'd be very interested in buying the 2 TRD pieces you'd remove so my completely unbiased opinion says to buy the Stefner

Edit: This may be for 86s that have a specific front crossmember that has mounting points designed for this piece. For example the 2018 and 2020 BRZ. I'm not sure what Toyota came with this front crossmember.

Yeah. I already paid a arm for the Member Brace Set, and this would cost me another arm and a leg lol. The two braces from that set that this would replace were already chunky pieces which have helped cornering in the car already, so it’s the question of ‘pay $500 to replace a part that was from a $500 set’ and if it’s worth it.

So my conclusion is to not buy it for now due to the fact that it wouldn’t really change much in terms of rigidity. I will say that it is super annoying that they only sell these TRD parts in Japan and they offer literally no info on what it is lol!

Is a "TRD stiffener" the opposite of a "stool softener"?

To add more confusion, these flexible draw stiffners are supposed to be paired with the TRD flexible chassis braces ( read TRD baseball bat ) and they also cost an arm and a leg or two.

A friend tried them. They work wery well on uneven roads, the front is more fast in turn.
But globally less sensation of stiffness.
I'd say they "soften" the front, it's up to tastes.
I like the solid sensation more.
