Coming from where you are I want to say 75-80 is closest. As far as what's in VA, no clue.

Ok, so I took my car into to Priority Scion in Chesapeake VA to have the fuel pump TSB looked into. They took my car and I was told that there was a problem. Apparently they managed to hit something while they had my car. After this the rep told me that they have been instructed not to replace the pump and I would have to contact Toyota. I wanted to punch the service rep right there, but kept my cool. Now I need them to replace the bumper cover and paint it as well as the fuel pump chirp resolved. Think twice before getting service there.

Why did they not fix the damage that they caused while they had your car?

It happened on a Saturday when his body shop guy was not there. Also, I am still not sure that I want them working on my car after this. I am going to get 2 estimates tomorrow before I go to see them.

Alright so as the temperatures begin to drop, I realize each day more and more that I need to get my hands on a set of winter shoes. But I need your opinion.

I've done quite a bit of research on sites like tirerack.com and read a lot of reviews on both winter and all season tires. However, my mechanic (who works at a Toyota/Scion dealership) is pushing me towards buying a set of Hankook All-season tires from him as opposed to getting winter tires online. He's been my family's mechanic for over 20+ years now so I doubt he'd steer me wrong..

I'm not sure if he just wants me to buy tires from him to get the sale? Or if all season tires are really better than winter ones...help? After looking at reviews and surveys of all-season tires, a lotttt of them perform horribly when it comes to snow traction. any thoughts/advice? should i go with something like the blizzak via tire rack or hankook all seasons from him...

The only reason to run an All-Season is to use it ALL year long. I prefer seasonal tires. I have a set of snow tires that work really well and a set of summer tires that work really well, I do NOT compromise when it comes to safety/traction.

Would you rather have a jack-of-all-trades and master-of-none or two specialists that do their separate jobs infinitely better? If you can afford a cheap set of wheels (your stockers for instance) for winter and a set of bling bling wheels for summer with nice rubber...then do it. Wake up, Neo.

Also a Performance Winter tire may suit you better than a Blizzak, but that depends on what your commute looks like and what kind of snowfall you get. I'm mostly highway and mostly slush, so no need for Blizzaks.
