Alright I'm done. I don't agree with you, so I'll leave it at that "kiddo".
Go buy a Genesis Coupe and be happy that your car performs better. I'll very happily drive my BRZ and enjoy the shit out of its performance (especially after trading in a Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track).

Back on topic, I haven't experienced any tC owners that were bitter. I've had enough thumbs up's from tC owners (even though I drive a BRZ, they obviously know the cars are the same). A few guys that I spoke to basically said what many of us already know, that for THEM they wanted a "sporty" car, but the size and very useless backseats of the FRS/BRZ is what made them decide to get a tC (or keep their tC).
I had an xB owner stop and talk to me as well, and he was saying that he thought it was great for Scion in general to have a key car like the FRS to get people understanding the Scion brand, and respecting it a little more (obviously Toyota's intentions by branding it as such).

My opinion's probably best represented in three images:
If anything, I'm probably an ambassador (if not THE ambassador) for FR-S / tC relations. There are aspects of driving that I feel the tC does better than the FR-S (for example, driving through blizzards in 195/65/15 snow tires on 15" steelies). The tC also gets better gas mileage on average (27 MPG, but it's primarily better because the FR-S gets 34 MPG in 6th gear on highway cruising runs, but since that's the most boring way to drive the FR-S, I usually get 24 MPG after hammering away at the throttle, carving through turns). I do wish I could convey to the tC owners how I like their cars; if I get a chance to say something to that effect, I usually do. However, I did definitely get the FR-S to experience the fun of RWD. |

I personally like the tC a lot especially the Release series. For the buck there's a ton of value WITH Toyota peace of mind.
It does however offer a very different package for different wants/needs compared to the FR-S. In retrospect I wish Id have purchased a tC over the xB as my daily driver but at the time thought we needed a wagon. I could see a lot of tC owners going with the FR-S next time if they want to try RWD.

I know, this girl pulled up next to me in her tc the other day and was toying with me...wait, it was my wife lol. We have both the FR-S and a 2013 tc. We bought the tc 2 months after the FR-S.
I'm impressed with the little tc. it's a different car than the FR-S, but still a great sport coupe at a good price. There are a few things in it that I wish were in the FR-S, namely the fat d-shaped steering wheel with radio controls. I love the feel of that wheel much more than the flimsy wheel in the FR-S. Both great cars with different purposes. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2 |

As good as Toyota is, I'd never own a tC. Ever.

Lets face it, I'd bet you probably wouldn't buy a FF vehicle period!
It's just a mini Camry with 2 doors!

lol yet you have the 5 axis lip kit. 5 axis started with the tC. Made their first lip kit for the tC. If I remember correctly their wheels were first made for the tC.
When I see or hear about 5 axis, im flooded with thoughts of the tC.

Sporty cars that are front wheel drive just don't do anything for me. It just seems like they are stuck somewhere in some sort of land where cars try to look good but perform extremely terribly. I'd rather have a Kia, Hyundai, Chevy, or Toyota gas getter. They are front wheel drive because it's efficient and cheap. They know their place in the world. And that's getting groceries, getting great gas mileage, lugging a family around, and being reliable. Take the new Camry for example. It looks like a sleek family car but nobody in their right mind would ever think to put on upgrades like intake and exhaust, and stupid DIY ricer mods #becauseracecar style. Many people with tC's think they all of a sudden has a race car and it pisses me off. Same goes with Mustang and Camaro drivers, especially of the V6 genre. /endrant lol
