I tried this mod. Took a long time and my back isn't happy about it. I finished the drivers side, turned on the lights and realized I had the source and plug sides backwards. I fixed it then tried the lights again. The lights looked the same as stock. I see many people asking if both sides need to be wired to see a change but not seeing anyone give a clear yes or no to that question. At that point I said screw it and put it back to stock since I won't be able to remove my front bumper with this mod unless I get more supplies and disconnects. I used a variety of vampire taps, butts, and the like as I don't have a solder kit. I wouldn't have been able to undo it if I had soldered it so probably better I didn't.

Yes. You need to do it to both sides.

Hey guys maybe some of you could provide some guidance. I followed that great diagram and have everything wired and soldered (except the 1side of the bottom drl source wire. But both sides are tied to my diode as I'm testing) but my boomerangs (headlight DRL doesn't come on at all now. No matter the setting but everything else works. I couldn't find out how to remove the harness (with green wire) so I took off my bumper and removed the headlights and made my connections (soldered and taped). I made sure everything was hooked back up, it all works, side markers and high beams included but not the LEDs (boomerangs) in the headlights. I'm going try and sleep on it but everything looks right according to the diagram. Any help is appreciated.

If you snap a couple pics of your connections maybe I can see what's going on.

Success

Hey guys thanks for the outreach but everything works great now. I followed the diagram and realized I misinterpreted the green wire harness part and just had to cut, switch and resolder my wires( thankfully I made extensions). It looks seriously mean! Leaves quite the impact and should be stock from the factory.
Big thanks to Lithium and everyone else, this community rocks!

Does anyone know where the wires from the DRL leads into? The reason is because I want to solder it to the DRL above the harness so I can easily remove my bumper in the future instead of having a permanent wire attached it to.

Any chance we can meet up in socal so I could ask you to do the mod to my car? I would reimburse you for your time of course, and even buy you a drink!

I'm not competent enough to fiddle around with wires and I have no previous electrical experience at all

What did you use (ie parts) to make it a plug and play?
Thanks for any info
