Due to aftermarket support for relocator kits they cannot grant any exempts. And i sued the "it blocks air flow to my radiator and overheats route...."

A tow hook bracket is a good compromise. No holes in the bumper and you can take it off for meets and photo shoots and so on.

So this is my solution to the problem, pretty sure it's still illegal but I've been pulled over twice and the cops didn't do anything... Might be because I'm Mil but you never know.

From JBLM north to Seattle they don't care at least... the only care if you're doing 90 in a 60

Oh yeah it only costed 2$ Got suction cups from Walmart and cut around the nub to fit them into the License plate. If you take your time and do it well it won't make any rattle noise, LIKE MINE!

Many consider that dangerous, as if you were to get into a car accident it could become a potential lethal flying object. I am actually not even sure if thats legal like you stated lol.

I thought about doing that though. Right now I just have it under my two carpets on the passenger seat. If I get pulled over i'll tell the cop they never drilled my bumper for it and i'm not comfortable doing so.

a cell phone can be a potentially lethal flying object too though. Do we need to drill holes in our bumpers and mount our cellphones too? :P (My attitude towards these laws not you)

lol but you have to remember a license plate has pretty sharp edges. Would definitely do more damage than a cell phone. Valid point though.

I'm just not going to do it. It's required in Illinois but I've been driving without one since July sometime and haven't been stopped for it yet. The extra plate is under my seat as an excuse if I get pulled over ("Oh, I have it right here, I'm just waiting on the mounting bracket to ship.").

But yeah, unless I get a fix-it ticket in my hometown where I have to drive every day, it isn't happening.

Once someone forgot to lock down their Nokia 3310 before driving.

ONCE.

Anyway, I'll probably apply for an exemption and then when I'm denied I'll appeal. I really HATE how the front plate looks, no matter how anyone mounts it. I'll just have to trust that I can fool the officer into believing I had it off for a photo shoot.

Easiest way is to get old, then they cops know your not a tard and leave you alone unless you need pulling over :P

You can pretty much forget the stupid stories, the cops have heard them all, if they are inclined to give you a ticket, they will.

So far I've had a few cops roll by slowly and look the car over but not do anything. I think they just like the car XD.

I live in downtown Seattle so there is a pretty high ratio of civilian cars to police, so that is probably keeping me off their radar.

I drove my mustang for 10 years all over Washington state and only once did I get pulled over for no plate. (and i lived in Pullman where the cops love pulling you over for stupid shit) The thing about the front plate is that the cop has to first see the front of your car and second just want to hassle you. Most likely your were being suspicious or the cops are just making stops on busy weekends looking for drunks. I was on the way home from camping on memorial day weekend, so the latter is probably true. The car was packed to the gills with camping stuff and the cop just checked my stuff and let me go with a warning. I don't plan on installing my front plate, a fix-it ticket is a cheap fix, and besides the car looks way better without it.
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time... And for everyone's sake don't drink and drive - especially without a front plate - great way to end up in cuffs or dead. Kind of like robbing a bank and then getting pulled over later for having a tail light burned out...Darwinism at its best.
