Lol. My dad was also forbidden from getting a motorcycle by his parents. So he got a Harley anyway and then slid on some gravel. It then stayed in my grandparents garage for the next 30 years. He's never been good at learning the easy way lol.

Somehow I managed to ride motorcycles for 25 years without a crash. I don't know if it was the MSF course I took (SIPDE! FINE-C!) or just dumb luck. Likely both. Anyway, when I hit my early 40s I decided that, not only could I not count on vehicles around me to do the right thing, I could not count on myself to react to or recover from any hazardous situation.

I had a bike, marriage soon put a stop to it.. So bought a Caterham, much like a bike, but can't fall off... The passenger gets the alfresco experience, cold and wet if the roof is down and you happen to be in the UK..

@ just finished installing the Motiv OP and FP.

First impressions on Cold Start, not any different whatsoever than having a double resonated FP.

Did find this on the OP to header connection. Gasket was FUBAR. Grimspeed one too, I thought it was just me going crazy on hearing a slight leak all this time.



I did have some slight fitment issues. The bolts supplied are 14mm, the nuts are 15mm. Which seem to be the self locking ones. The problem I was having is that I was tightening the nuts, not the bolt, so I had leaks everywhere. Once I thought about tightening the 14mm bolts, I realized how much more tightening I had to do. All good now. Noob moment.

Going to take it for a spin and report shortly.

Especially in New Jersey and Delaware. Them dumb fuks are on my shitlist today. CT, RI, MA, NY and MD drivers all get a passing grade.

I knew of a company who used Pi's to run their product they were selling, a 1/3 scale bowling setup. That shortage basically killed them.

Nuts and screws are specified by their thread sizes. We know what you mean but there actually are M14 screws on the car. You're likely talking about M10 hex head screws. They can come with either 14 or 15 mm heads.

We used to jokingly call this “symmetric”. I dunno why A lot of motorcycle accessories did this a lot, metric threads and oddball metric head, or SAE head.

I think it's to take into account the guy who only has one spanner of each size. Minimal tool kit.

Hey no worries, these things happen.



On my morning drive today I didn't really felt a difference either. Those Helmholtz chambers are quite the feat in the exhaust. I'll have to get under the car and check all connections again.



Cold start was maybe slightly louder? But driving noise, tone, rasp or lack thereof, drone, all about the same.



What I have noticed on the other hand, is the slight increase in throttle response, I guess the ECU is getting used to the unrestrained back-pressure. On an unrelated note, my battery is struggling, is constantly under 14V and only ever goes up when Im on the gas. Guess is time to replace it, I guess 5 years aint that bad for OEM battery life.
