Yup. I was a passenger when it happened, but it's my car. Everyone's OK except for a brutally bruised ego for the driver, badly bruised sternum for me, and the sadness that comes from having to start over (oh, and the expense... haven't gotten into the car to see how bad it is, but it's not good, and it's out of pocket) 2nd time is always better, as my metalsmithing instructor used to say...

I think it was a 4" pole (snapped it off), yes. Unless you meant the driver, in which case I have no idea. It was on private property is all I'll say right now.

Shit happens. And I'm rather existential. This is one time it's probably helpful.
@humfrz should not take lessons from this... for sure. His way is much better.

I won't pry. Glad only chest and ego. Pole would be fine. We Hungarians, though...

I would probably be the same way.

When Hum hits a pole he hits a POLE. Luckily the back bumpers on Saturn's seem to be made out of titanium with an adamantium based paint since there wasn't even a scratch.

The actual "pole" that has been referenced:

Yep, I learned my accident technique from my old demolition derby days ...... pick a sedan with a large trunk or a station wagon ........ and slam backwards into things ........

YES! ...... THERE IT IS! .........

See how they just planted that pillar right out in the middle of the parking garage lane .........

Look at all those pillars ....... they didn't NEED that end one to hold up the next level ......

And look at all those other empty parking spaces ........ they didn't have to make a "parking space" where I was parked .......

Plus, they should have posted that so called parking space, as for small cars/motorcycles only .......

Nor do you see any warning signs with LARGE PRINT and flashing yellow lights ........ saying CAUTION ......????

I rest my case ...... besides ....... this is ........

Oh yeah, PDR can't fix the scratches. You're not the first to mention that.

At least I don't have to worry about bumper sag any more.
