Some are going further than that... the Lyriq is only offered in black and light-black at this point. It will be interesting to see on 05/19 when they open up orders for the non "premier" editions if there will be other colors.

I've got my fingers crossed for a nice BRG/Hakone clone.

Well, they finally done did it,and it's about time!

Vent swaps have been around for everything but the door since day-1. Plastic and carbon options. Everything but the door. though TRD does make a delete piece.

But that means cutting into the metal bodywork. There have been videos showing that they aren't functional without other modifications.

I seem to remember the PR department saying something like the vents are where they would be but it was the up to the owners to cut them out if they wish.....

Just alot of silly PR BS that both the Supra and the FT86 marketing teams had to come up with.....

Again, it has as much of an opening as the 1st gen 86/FRS/BRZ does. Yes, there is metal behind the vent (inner frame/ in this case.) There is however a little slit/opening in them and they do let out a bit of heat that is noticeable.

The bumper vents next to the headlights also have an opening to them, just no duct-work to go anywhere. The rear ones by the tail lights are in an enclosed space, so ducting from the wheel well would be needed if you wanted function. Your SOL on the doors.

Are they a game changer? No.

Do they work if swapped? Yes.

Was it a bit of marketing crap? Yep. Especially since the GT4 version of the car features fully functional vents from the get-go (sans-door.)

No, but it does look nice. I do kinda have a street legal 'race car' in the shape of a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo 2.. it's not stripped out, a road version.

I think over time my BRZ'd will make a nice stripped out racer, much like the 240z resto-mods that we all have seen and love..
