Whether or not the styling is groundbreaking or even appealing to some, the miracle is that they even introduced a new rear wheel drive, 2 door sportscar at all. An electric crossover would be easier and have a waiting list.

I'm kinda sad that my FR-S is so heavily modified it wouldn't be financially viable for me to sell it any time soon. On the other hand it's kinda like I have an AP1, one that from June '12 to present has only just over 70,000 km on it, never seen snow, has the original concept car body kit (5: AD) and still has way more power and rubber than the new one will. First world problems.

I hope they meet all their objectives with the Toyobaru. Both parents good genes = nice offspring.

Tails are fine IMO. If they look a bit like NSX, or Civic, or whatever taillights it doesn't bother me at all, as long as they look good in this context, IMO they do.

Original Ford GT40 had Corvair taillights!
Maserati Khamsin tails are S30 Datsun Z.
Lamborghini Diablo had Z32 300ZX headlights,
Countach had tails from some cheapo car...
McLaren F1 had tails from a Bova Futura, a BUS!

it looks great! love the hips like before, really dig the sleek and modern tailights, love that they black out the cover, the rear window being a bit wider makes it look more substantial, diffuser looks awesome and I really like the license plate location...can't wait to see it some toyota-only colors ^^

where were yall when the twins first came out?? there were plenty of folks that thought (and still think) the twins looked like total shit, either it looks like a cheap car or they cried that it didn't look like the concepts that came before it. Yall should go back to the threads from 2010-2012 and read through the comments..plenty of disgust..
Ease up there brother. As I’ve said plenty, all of my musings are mine and mine alone. I hope the car sells well and that plenty of people like it. I’m just giving my opinion like everyone else. Your results may vary.

And where was I in 2010? Why I was living the dream, man. I was only 47 then. And I liked the twins. BRZ in particular.

^^^This about sums it up for me as well. There's slim pickings out there for a new, affordable, fun to drive, somewhat practical sportscar.

Did everyone here who's married, tie the knot with a centerfold beauty queen or did they get hitched to the girl that in their eyes, was appealing and was looking for something more than skin deep? In the words of Stephen Stills (with creative liberty taken):

Don't be angry, don't be sad
Don't sit crying over good times you've had
There's a BRZ/86 right next to you
And she's just waiting for something to do
Love the one you're with, Love the one you're with.

Well, no but then again I didn't buy my wife, now did I? (the answer is no).

Ever notice that a lot of dorky looking rich guys have "centerfold beauty queen" wives? They didn't buy them but there was money involved in the selection process.

I am at ease yo. Fyi you straight up said it was well received, thats a weird way to say that it is just your opinion pardon me for calling it out.. Regardless, we can all go back to MT, C&D, etc reviews if we need proof many Americans especially think the twins were ugly.. And to be clear I love both first and this 2nd gen styling, dont think either is better looking than the other just different..

Ouch. So a Ford Escape front (thanks, @Tokay444 ) with a Buick Regal rear.

I think you missed my point. It has more to do with the selection process than the cost of acquisition.

FWIW, I didn't "buy" my wife either. It was more like a long term lease but the termination fees are astronomical!

I was referring to the selection process as well. If I'm spending money I'm going to get closer to exactly what I want than if I'm depending on more fanciful selection criteria.

My first requirement for my car (and a wife, if I'm being honest) is I need to like the way it looks. No it doesn't have to be absolutely perfect but I have to be willing to look at it.
