Beehive valve springs
Has anyone used the beehive springs on their valve train. I'd like to know how well they work
Thanks |

Beehive valve springs
I have them i don’t really feel a difference its more a security thing for the people that enjoys banging redline all day but if you “accidentally” end up redlining you’ll be okay from valve float issues but keep in mind the oil system will freak out i got them because its a must have since the engine was already apart.

Beehives allow you to run more lift then a standard spring without getting coil bind. That is it.

Doing 8k rpm is easier than before.
Hesitation from 7.5k has gone.

makinen: IIRC main issue that kept off higher redline from twins engines was limitations of oiling system.

This is for my track car. Redline will be 8500. This is a built engine with alot of oiling updates.
There is alot more to beehives than just higher lift. They have much better harmonic control allowing a softer spring to do the same job as heavier springs. Just wondered how well they worked in the fa20 |

Good luck with engine to last any meaningful mileage. AFAIK competent shops had problems getting FA20 reliably past 7800-7900, due mentioned oiling system limitations.
