I'm at 96k with pretty much just silly problems, nothing debilitating (so far) but with the CPO 100k warranty Subaru has covered everything. Original plugs and mostly original fluids too but those will be changed when the clutch gets changed in the very near future because the TOB is toast. I've gone through 2 sets of 3 season tires and the winters just went through their 3rd and are just about shot. I'm going to run them down to nothing and put last years tires on and run them down too and get new some time this summer. This really has been a reliable and fun car for the 3.5 years I've had it.

I'm at about 92,000 miles and have had no issues.

Up until this last servicing appointment when life got in the way I've been consistent with maintenance (purchased the car with 30,000 miles) - I did change spark plugs around 60,000, could have stretched it a bit longer I think.

For me the car is strictly a daily drive - and I think that'll be the key for you. If the car you're purchasing was heavily tracked or self-modded I'd consider other options as the wear / tear and potential for part failure could be greater than anticipated...

I bought my car used with a handful of cosmetic mods and spent the first few months undoing most of what the previous owner did. The last remaining vestige of their ownership is the car's exhaust - which while nice was installed somewhat shoddily and doesn't sit centered in the bumper cutouts (pisses me off to no end, I've had a few shops try to straighten it when I took the car in for repairs but the fix was always temporary).

edit:

Oh also forgot to mention that the clips on my side markers are toast... The driver side marker keeps popping out regardless of what double-sided tape I try to use to hold it in place

Being a daily driver with just light mods and occasional track use seems to be a pretty consistent theme for the guys saying they have no issues. The definition of "daily driver" may come into play as well since those that seem to drive long distances every day appear to have less issues than those that only drive a couple of miles. I guess these things just like to be actually driven.

I parked mine for ~3 weeks this winter when we were getting tons of snow and the roads were a disaster after the storm that brought down all those trees. There were so many spots that were really narrow and it was just sketchy and people were driving into each other all over the place. When I took it out again there was this crazy crackle coming out of the front end for the first 100 miles or so that slowly went away as it got driven more. There were a few other things like that too that faded as it got used more and more.

Has anyone with high mileage replaced the fuel filter yet?

I skipped it and have had no issues so far. I'm all for preventative maintenance but from what I read around here and what the mechanic confirmed it's a major PITA to change...

There's not a single thing in that video I'd consider to be a pain in the ass. That's cake. If your mechanic said it's difficult, it's either because he hasn't done it and thinks he'll have to drop the tank like with some other vehicles, or he's just trying to justify overcharging you for it.

Based on that video - I'd have to admit, seems like I was wrong -

Here's what I was looking at back when I was around 75,000 miles:

You only need to swap the little sock, i guesd the cost of that part is cheap. Carefull when ordering from delaership becausr they want you yo buy all the assembly and cost like 400 bucks or so

Edit:

2nd edit:
My mechanic would charge me 1.5 hour job ($60)

You must do all highway miles to get to 188,000 kms on the original brake pads.

Interesting about the plugs too.

Exactly. On and off ramps are my playground.

As Tess said abut 99% of my miles are indeed highway. A whole different type of wear and tear on car parts.
