I did the same with Irvine, Timmons Long Beach, DCH Riverside. The lowest I was able to get to was just over $29k from DCH Riverside through a guy named Daniel Guessman (sp?). If you're negotiating with him via email and don't respond for a few days, his manager will email you and basically ask what will it take to get you in. Lol

The OC dealerships, just plan a day, go in and talk to them, burn their time, and when they won't hit the numbers you want.... leave. I got much lower offers from a few on your list just by asking questions and trying to leave.

Some dealers are concerned that if they give you a decent quote you're just going to take it to a different dealer. I wish we could just buy cars on Amazon or something :| dealerships are the worst part of buying a car. No, I don't want your paint protection. No, I don't want the underbody sealer - this is california, I'm sure snow won't be an issue. Blech.

Pain in the butt if they get pushy but a surprising number of people (not usually "car guys") actually want these add ons so they need to be offered. It is when they go beyond the offer level and start trying to force them on me that I get pissy.
My wife sells the add ons at the RV dealership she works at and well over 80% of the units sold have at least one. Over 50% take them all! The profit on those things is way more than what they make on the actual unit and is really what keeps them in business.

I offered them $24,750 (super lowball) and I eventually got them to haggle their way down to $26,200 (more than $2k below invoice). If you wait for the 2018 models to come out, I'm pretty confident you can grab a series.yellow for under $26,000 if they've been sitting on the lot for a while. Lowballing works! You'll never get the car at your lowball offer but you'll still get it at a bargain if you do it right
I did the same thing. $31K sticker, I told them $25K and I'd take it. Got it to $27K including tint and maintenance. That was good enough for me.

29k seems high considering someone here paid 26k a month ago. I expect some regional adjustment but not $3k adjustment. Should be 26k or less around here when the 18s come out. Patience!

Yup, patience for sure. That I don't have.

But I agree with you, waiting a few months should be easier to hit the numbers your looking for. Dealerships are not making much money at all on these cars and I've actually been flat out ignored at some dealers but because the salespeople will be drawn to the customer behind me shopping for a forester that has a large profit margin compared to the BRZ. Oh well

Sad but true! I think there is a Jalopnik article written about that too. If I were running Subaru, I'd use the BRZ to test out the Tesla direct sales model. Might sell more units with higher margins that way. Now we know a good price for a series.yellow or limited with PP should be somewhere between 26 to 26.5k, we just need an honest dealer to sell us one at that price.

It's odd because in my wheeling and dealing thus far, I can frequently get a car w/ PP down to about the same price as one without it. Like... why won't they go lower on the non-PP car?
