I like your idea to use the quick latch to bring you trunk wall down (as well as the rest of your awesome thread)! I hate how the rear seats cant be brought down, except through the trunk. Maybe that's something I can change now that you've given me the idea....

Once I'm caught up with all my installs I'll be starting a DIY thread that will include all my templates, measurements, materials, angles, pics, etc. that it took to complete this mod.

Materials can vary from person to person... the templates will allow the end user to take the route they feel is best for their application. For example, one could choose to use the templates to make the panels in CF or fiberglass...

Also, I have never seen the Shrader rear seat delete in person but it may be possible to install a hinge on it and locate Quick-Latch posts and fasteners as I did in my installation. That could possibly save even more time if one is wanting to have the ability to open and shut the rear seat back panel.

I just hope to cut the project time down for anyone wanting to follow my DIY.

Fantastic build and build log, very detailed and its all -really- appreciated. Given me plenty of ideas on how to clean up, tweak, and mod a few things for mine in the future! I can't wait till you put the DIY for the rear seats too.. something I've wanted to manage for a while!

That Mishimoto overflow tank will fit right in with this setup, I received mine around the same time last month too and went in without an issue! Looks far better.. though I'm thinking of pulling it, cleaning it up again and having it clear powder-coated just for some protection.

Thanks for the compliment on my build thread... I've learned a lot on this forum as well as picked up many ideas that I emulated or that sparked separate ideas within me so I try to give back.

I don't care if anyone copies anything I do...but it is always nice to know you helped someone out... so mentions are cool. Plus, mentions will help to direct others to my build where they may find information they may or may not have been looking for.

On another note, I just bought some buffing wheels so I hope to polish up my Mishimoto coolant overflow tank this weekend. I hope to install it as well.

Nice, thanks for the pics! Looks great in the engine bay!

I think since it already has a polished finish I'm going to first try buffing it out some with white rouge and a cloth buffing wheel before finishing with a metal polish. If I don't like the results then I'll go probably 800, 1000, 1500, and 2000 grits before the rouge and metal polish. I accomplished the latter with the Mishimoto aluminum fan shroud and there was a noticeable difference between the out-of-the-box polished finish and the finish I gave it.

I hope to have it installed this weekend!

I finally got around to polishing my Mishimoto Coolant Overflow Tank.

Since it comes polished I didn't really need to do a whole lot although I could have... lol Anyway, I just hit it up with a buffing wheel and white rouge... then finished it with some metal polish from Griot's Garage.

Ok... so I finally got around to installing my Mishimoto aluminum coolant overflow tank. The install wasn't as straight up as I had hoped but that was because of my HKS GT supercharger v3 install. I'm sure on a NA FR-S/BRZ the install would have been cake. I had to remove a few things in order to get it in. In the end it was totally worth it.

Fitment was on point! Quality was great! More bling in my engine bay is what I wanted... Mission accomplished!

The first is a side airbag canceller... it keeps the airbag light from coming on after the OEM seats are removed.

The second secures my Fumoto valve from opening. I wasn't worried about this happening but it was like 8 bucks shipped... why not.

Does it just cancel the light or does it cancel the bags as well?

It tricks the airbag system into thinking everything is installed correctly so no lights will illuminate.
