It is relevant because this car was inspired by that car. Since when did anyone say it was as fast as the Griffon is. Even if it was, no one in this forum would consider buying it, because it still wouldn't have a turbo and it would be twice the cost of this version. It's faster than a stock FR-S. Even without a power upgrade. The focus of the car is to develop the chassis further. Any grease monkey can put different tires on, but not just anyone can do R&D to develop chassis improvements.

The collective mount of post here are just people who don't even track their cars. So I'm not surprised by the lack of education.

Inspiration doesn't equate to relevance. Nissan days the altima is race inspired and the juke is inspired by the gtr.

No you right, having a video where they state it was inspired by the Griffon (which has like 200hp) is definitely less relevant towards this build, than someone's opinion tthat it needs more power from boost. Got it!

I'm not saying anything about power. Or the production car at all for that matter but keep putting words in my mouth and then arguing with them.

Go back and read my original comment. If you didn't want to participate on the subject matter in which I was speaking on, then perhaps you should not have quoted me from the get go. Just sayin...

You brought up the race car as evidence to this street car being fast. I don't think that makes sense. There correlation isn't that strong between the two regarding performance.

I'm struggling to see what exactly is your point?

It's NOT a race car!!! It's a R&D vehicle. And the aero is not completely different. Apart from the use of different materials most of the 14R60's aero upgrades are direct copies of the Griffon's.

Again, what is your point? No one here is saying that the 14R60 will do Tsukuba in less than a minute. I can guarantee that it will do it quicker than a stock FRS though.

No I didn't. You read it wrong bud.

The only thing I don't like on the 14R60 is the wing. I don't like the duck neck mount.
Noting that BEING it's in the image of the Griffon, it's not going to have some power bump (Griffon doesn't haven't F/I to give it some power bump). All the post before me collectively were dragging on the car because it wasn't boosted. I said the Griffon ran a low 1min without the power to say power isn't everything.

You apparently couldn't get that out of what I wrote, since I had to spell it out for you.

i guess i just dont see how that validates the concerns many people have. lacking in power is okay but not acknowledging the lack of 800 lbs or the race tires just paints a partial picture is all. dont be so quick to blame the person reading your comment for not understanding what you were saying. it was a bad way to say what you meant.

I definitely have a hard time comprehending how the Griffon race cars lap time justifies the price of the production car.

Yes you do, because I made no mention of the cost of the car in reference to how fast it was.

If I were to make a comment on it's cost, it would be this....This thread embodies why cars like these never make it to the US. MURICAN's see no value unless it has warp speed setting and they can get it for the price of a gallon of milk.
