$500. And replacement value coverage as well. I just check all the boxes for lower cost insurance. If I moved to the north in the city that cost would at least double. If I get too many tickets or claims I would lose all my discounts and the price would sky rocket. When I turn 65 the price will go up a bit more because I will be out of the "safe" category and into a higher risk one.

right because why wouldn't you want protection from someone with no insurance or state minimum insurance crashing into you and leaving you with a giant financial burden, its not just you out on the road.

Oh around Miami you are probably in the "young driver" risk class!

Yah. I have no tickets in 6 years here in NY and insurance cost was a big deciding factor in making my car track only.

Mine is about $120 a month for the FRS through USAA, but I have a recent ticket (68 in a 55, in a 1 mile long 55MPH zone between to 65MPH zones, yeah Georgia).

Mine will go down soon when our under 25 son takes over his car and moves to his own plan. Right now because he is own our policy it's jacked up a bit even though he's had no accidents or tickets. His car (a 2014 Ford Focus SE) is about $150 a month.

Technically, I could get the FRS insured for $70 per month if I only carried liability. The rest is Roadside Assistance, Rental Reimbursement, Collision, Uninsured Motorist and Medical.

Dang... that is nice!

We actually had our rules change a bit last year. My dad just turned 70 and got something like an $800/year discount because he has been accident free for almost 40 years, and a 10% discount for being a senior.

The old scale used to stop at 10 years accident free to get a max discount and our rates were more comparable then. Mine have steadily risen ~5%/year because despite earning more years of safe driving they keep adding on new fees and increasing rates. This year was the worst at about 8% increase.

When I moved from my parents house to my condo just 5 minutes away but in a different postal code, my rates jumped a couple hundred a year because I went to a higher crime rate area. Despite my car now being parked in a secured underground parkade vs. on the street.

My BRZ was just almost as cheap to insure as my '94 MR2.
Then again, I thought the MR2 was expensive for a 25 year old car.
Full coverage is $72 a month for the BRZ, $64 for the MR2.

I have basic coverage through Progressive on my motorcycle. $115 per year

The wife and I have full coverage through Esurance on the BRZ and Q5 for $890 per six months. No tickets. Mid thirties. Sonoma CA.

I would have basic, but the vehicles still have enough value to justify it, and it isn’t too much more, but if full coverage was a lot more than basic then I wouldn’t get full coverage.

Insurance is lame.
