Are Tein Flex Z's worth it?

Hey guys so since the RCE Springs that I was set on aren't available for like 3months i decided to just go with Tein Flex Z's. Just wanted your guys' opinion on how good they are and how much they improve your performance and drive compared to stock? And If they are a bang for you buck? If not other opinions on different coils around the same price range as the Flex Z's? Thank You Guys Ahead of Time!

Running on swift spec r springs and koni adjustables yellows

the RCE on yellows is a hot combo too. the problem with a lot of the cheaper coilovers is the valving isn't designed specific for the car. its a generic valve they are shoving a spring perch on and assuming with spring rates on what works. BC coils are notorious for that too.

I would trust Feal/MCS/Fortune Auto over Tein, but the cost of that R&D goes up exponentially.

Koni is making the sealed SCC regulated shock for racing. its a brand I trust

They are the best bang for the buck at their price point. Nothing else on the market at this time offers the same value.

Are you tracking your car?

I am on flex Z's cause I got them super cheap. Been tracking my car and no complaints except for the ride on the street, and a good amount of that is my setup.

Would be cool to get a direct back to back comparo of quality springs and dampers like RCE Yellow + Bilstein B6 vs cheap coilovers like the Tein Flex Z. Obviously you can go lower on the Teins but damping, ride, handling is more important for most people.

I went from stock shocks on RCE yellows to Flex Z's about 2 years ago and I love them. As @CSG Mike said, best bang for buck you can get. Great for the street. Ride well. Handle way better than stock. I don't track but gather they wouldn't be that great for tracking.

You can track the FLZ, but it wasn't designed for it, and will wear out rather quickly with track abuse. It'll be fine for a novice, doing a first day, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who plans on going to the track even more than once.

Once a year? Get more than the FLZ.

The recommendation carries with any sub $1k coilover. None of them last on track.

I consider them a stop gap solution. I put 7 days on track with them last year, hopefully I get another 7 track days out of them this year because it will be this winter before I can upgrade.

For a street car, I think they are great. I bought a used set to replace stock shocks with eibach sport line springs. It was a MASSIVE improvement. The Teins allowed me to get a way better ride height and quality. Then, when the winter came, I was able to jack things up for ground clearance and they were great running on full soft. Like others have said, if you're after track performance, spend the money on something more suited for that kind of use.
