Hi sw20kosh & Grip Ronin,

We performed testing with a raw straight pipe, a thermal insulated pipe and the finned pipe; all with identical material, wall thickness and ID.
We utilized Type K thermocouples to log inlet and outlet air temperatures.
After analyzing all the data for the three different configurations, the finned pipe was most effective at reducing the charged air temperatures

Hope that helps.

Thank you Mike. That's too bad you didn't get to have a ride. You'll have to come out to another Wednesday next season. They aren't usually so chaotic. Being the last Wednesday of the season and a special course (Meihan Sportsland replica) is what I think did it.

And yes, our turbo kit was installed.

Cheers.

Well obviously...
They want to to know by how much. Or maybe the ambient temperature went down by 2 degrees by the time you got around to the finned pipe. Show them numbers of some kind.

ya im kinda looking for actual air temp numbers which im sure will be posted in due time. Maybe a water to air cooler would be a more effective add-on option. A internal fin type should cut air temps similar to a twin screw intercooler.

Hi boredom.is.me & Grip Ronin,

Data regarding this component will remain proprietary for the same reasons we mentioned earlier concerning data in general.

Please feel free to give us a call as well if you would like to discuss this question or others with one of our engineers and they will address it as best as possible.

Cheers.

Are you experiencing boost creep with this down-pipe?

It maybe ok for 7 psi but what if customers wants higher boost?

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for being patient.

We have not experienced any boost creep with this down-pipe and have tested up to 9 psi (as you know, our kit will see peak boost levels of around 7.4 psi).

We don't have any reason to believe that boost creep would be an issue at higher boost levels, but, of course, that is something we would need to test for.

Cheers.
