I had 2 600w 12's in my Altima powered by 1000w amp and that made so much rattle. I can imagine how'd it be in our cars. I still do want to put a sub, single 10 or 8 but I still haven't even got tint done lol.

If your car won't start- there's no crank, no start; and there's crank, no start. That's the terminology to use to avoid confusion.

Just a self powered 12inch. Can't remember the brand... Harmon kardon? That doesn't sound right... It was a good brand. Got it from Crutchfield for 200$ I think. Takes up a lot of trunk space. I think I'll change to the OEM BRZ sub soon

That's what I'm thinking of doing getting a powered sub I've been eyeing the infinity bass link.

If you don't know a ton about audio or want something custom for the sake of it a powered sub is the way to go

Is the rest of your audio system stock? In my Altima had a pioneer double din and installed new 6.5s and 6x9s and then the two subs. I would like to do something custom but I'm afraid of rattling the car like crazy. I already have some window rattle that bothers the hell out of me.

All "stock" for me. The head unit is the factory option for Scion. Bespoke or whatever. Maybe you'd be interested in the OEM+ kit. Replaces all your speakers and adds a sub. I don't mind the stock sound system (minus the lack of bass) so I have no plans to change speakers. I'd add sound deadening/insulation before speakers to cut road noise long before I bothered touching the rest of the sound system. But I don't even play with equalizers. Just use presets when it's an easy option. That's how little "sound quality" bothers me

haha I'm not gonna run it at peak power. I like under powering my subs that way i can run them at 100% all the time. I don't like the sound of a sub working at peak, it doesn't sound as clean. I also prefer the sound of a nice large powerful box, it a smother and more pronounced bass instead of sounding like a stressed out 8" running at peak. Ill probably run it at 1500W
