Im wondering if my dog kennel will fit in the back of a brz with the seats folded. Its 22" high and 21" wide. Could one you members fortunate enough to have received your car already please check for me?

I have a similar sized crate, and I doubt it. There's a decent amount of room in there for shorter suitcases, etc, but nothing as large as a dog crate.

Is it a metal or plastic? If it's plastic, I'm going to go with no.

If you get one of these they collapse completely and are wide and have the same length as you by them(say 22x24) but are only about 3" tall and come with a case.

Thanks for the replies. So you dont think it will fit with the seats folded down to floor? ITs a plastic crate, Looks like Ginger is only riding in the Xterra.

No the plastic ones take up a huge amount of space, even broken down and put inside each other. You MIGHT be able to fit them in side ways but the dog would have to be up front.

I have a metal crate that did not fit. So, I went out and got a plastic one that does fit (barely) through the passenger door into the back with seats folded down. I am not certain of the size that I bought. Will check when I get home tonight.

+1 I had one and it was great. Only problem is that my dog decided she didn't want to be confined in it one day, and it didn't take much for her to chew her way out.

Thanks but will these fabric ones fit in the back opened up? I don't want my dog loose in the car getting fur everywhere and slobbering all over the windows!

Doggy seat belt harness and seat covers? The dog may still be able to lick windows though. Your best bet is to just not bring the dog in the car, or be ok with cleaning the car now and then.

I've been thinking about this myself as well. I think my best option for taking my 30lb terrier mix would be just putting her in the back seat with one of these put in:

And then using the slits included to let the belt buckles through and then attaching her harness (that I already use on walks) to one of these:

So with this the dog isn't confined to a crate/carrier, but they also can't bother you while driving since the cover serves as a barrier when it's hung on the front seat headrests. They stay safe (and legal in some states) while secured with the harness that buckles in. The harness should also help keep them from getting tossed around while cornering/braking. You can even shorten the length so they cant reach the windows, but that's just cruel IMO

I ferried mine in the BRZ once.

Worked fine.

No crate, seats down flat, cloth down across the rear area, leash secured to the hook that retains the seat when it's folded up.
