Went to Ryde Subaru for BRZ S test Drive, told they can deliver the car in Late Nov.

So I went for a test drive and put a deposit for manual BRZ S, and I wanted to get a white Manual BRZ S model, was told drive away price 46,665 as per their website.
With delivery around late November to early December if I put an order in now.
I wanted to know if anyone here have had similar delivery time? Or are they making this up to get the order?

There was dealer warranty apparently for Local living near Ryde, you don't have to pay anything extra, just serviced there with their capped price. For continuous period of 5 years and this warranty atomically get extended to another 3 years (mechanically).

Seems a bit more expensive delivery price than other places. That model is $45,478 driveaway in Victoria.

Just as a note, the equivalent GR86 spec with the pearlescent paint (on leaked pricing) will cost you just over 50k

Yes, sorry my price include floor mats, and spare wheels cover, and premium plate and the rear diffuser from STI.
Did you manage to get the delivery time from the Dealer in VIC? @Blighty
Seems like you got yours (WR Blue Pearl 2022 Subaru BRZ). When did you put in the order and how long did you have to wait?

I dont mind those STI parts.

On another note, how bad is it that Toyota Australia has essentially embedded price gouging into the Manual specs.

I mean at least in the US you could potentially get a dealer that sold at MSRP, here in Australia everyone has to pay the automatic price for the manual. Is it #SaveTheManual or #GougeTheManual?

Yup, my brother is still very keen on GR 86. Toyota here in NSW said delivery could be 2nd quarter 2023. I had put in my deposit back in March this year. So I be forgoing GR86 myself. Even though I do like the styling of GR86 plus the handling dynamics seems more lively (base on online reviews).

However upon test driving Auto BRZ S (this was the only transmission dealer have at the time). I really like the handling and comfort it had for such nimble sport car (comparing to my brother s2K).

BTW, do you know when the Subaru Dealers said they can deliver the BRZ in VIC?

Thanks

q1 2023.

Half of the 1100 people that have ordered those GR86's wont get them till later than that, so not surprised your brother is one. Yeah the car is amazing, I own a 2022 Manual Coupe S - the best part of my day is driving it.

I didn't answer your question sorry.

Yes, I think between dec/feb. Its not super clear, but Subaru does have better availability on the production line than the GR86 as the BRZ demand is less than expected - I would say its due to the incredibly good marketing of the GR86 - that GR branding is kicking goals for toyota - IMO the BRZ is a better package, and certainly has the most evolution, but toyota have done a great job with its new brand.

I ordered mine in May 2022 and was told delivery would probably be November 2022 or December 2022.

A few weeks ago, I got a build date of 20 October 2022 and an estimated delivery of possibly December 2022 but maybe January 2023.

EDIT: Just got a call to say delivery will be November 2022!

Got it on Wednesday 30 November 2022

So, under difficult circumstances, Subaru did a good job of managing expectations and delivering on time. Thank you.
