Drove up to Burlington for a small get together, about 350 km round trip. Car averaged 7.4L/100 at 130kmh on the highway, not bad for the 245 RS4. A lot of road noise from the tires, but this is to be expected.

Motor mount update: the vibrations aren't that bad even without a tune, just had to get used to them. I have noticed that at idle with the AC on it is the worst and definitely should get a tune to raise the idle. I have an OFT in the garage, just being lazy about modifying the stock map.

And some interior tuning as well, JDM black steering wheel trim and under radio trim pieces.

Now that everyone is double jabbed, we're able to meet up outdoors. Was fun to meet up in real life with people again and not online. Also, the MR2 owner's daily is a BRZ, so good enough

Haha... I had to resist talking smack about the MR2. Should've led with it.

Oil pan has a pinhole leak due to corrosion. It appeared to be surface but evidently that diagnosis was incorrect. Loses about 100-200 mL of oil a night, so new oil pan will be ordered and hopefully installed this week. For now, RTV on the affected area to hopefully stop lubricating my driveway.

RTV seal has worked, new pan still to be ordered. Track pads swapped in for a lapping day on Wednesday, nut and bolt check complete and nothing was loose.

Picture from Mosport DDT last year so this thread isn't just a text wall:

New oil pan has been installed with fresh hardware, and man cleaning the RTV sucked... never doing this job again, a shop can deal with that LOL. Removing the OEM header was a challenge because the bolts were corroded due to heat and salt. I ended up cutting the overpipe at the flange and picking up a replacement. Fresh Grimmspeed/Vibrant gaskets will be used, as the 243k ones were a bit past their prime for being reused.

While the pan was curing, I installed the Bride Zeta IV seat on Bride FO rails, more black interior trim, and a GCS 4th brake light. Currently the light is only wired in for reverse lights, as I decided I want to build a harness to tap into instead of splicing into the car's wiring.

Long weekend, and a long post. Got the car back together after the oil pan swap and drove up to Markham for a car meet, saw the new 2022 GR86. The car looks a lot better in person, and I am excited to see first hand how many parts are carried over from the first generation cars.

Next morning was a full day at DDT, I got nearly 2 hours of relatively traffic free seat time which was awesome. The track is so challenging and I have so much to learn. I don't have any photos of the car on track yet, but I did take this one in the hot pits and @Route was driving our friend's STI .

The drive home was uneventful, got 7.3L/100 @ 130kmh fuel economy with the RS4's and a semi-full trunk. I did stop once to stretch my legs somewhere along the way and took this picture which I quite like. The GCS 4th brake light is installed with an OEM style PNP harness.

The following Monday Grand Bend was hosting a track day, so I signed up late and unfortunately ended up in the green/beginner group. There was a lot of traffic so I played ring taxi and took some friends and family out during the morning sessions. You know it's bad when the car with less than 200hp is lifting in the straights to coast because of how slow the more powerful cars are. By the end of the day, most of the slow traffic had gone home or run out of brake pads, and I was able to get in some decent laps during the final open session of the day. I managed to beat my old personal best (Grand Bend Mod circuit) of a 1:00.932 with a 0:59.863.
While at the track I also ticked off the 244k km mark.

Overall, I'm very happy with the car and hoping to get 1 or 2 more track nights/days in before the car gets winterized and stored away from the salt.

As far as I know, you can pre-order with Toyota Canada as I know a few people who have. This car is owned by Toyota Canada and the person who brought it works at a dealer who was given the car. I also believe this is the same car that a few Canadian reviewers filmed as well.

Small update, got a few photos from the track back and this is by far my favorite.
Also ordered a replacement sandwich plate for the Blitz cooler, hoping it shows up before October so I can squeeze in one last track day before winter.

So cool that it's the same car. You arguably have the most famous twin ever.
