Point is though, that it's not "electronically" limited at 138mph. That OP thinks it's electronically limited to that mph, otherwise he wouldn't ask about removing the limiter.

It goes to 170mph, but not at 200hp with wind resistance.

If it were a cold engine, you would see water coming out of the tail pipes.

^ there's a good chance that car is stock including the pipes..remember it's only north America that gets shafted with the downgraded exhaust tips.

Your lucky if you can get it up to 110mph on a race track before you have to turn.

Depends on the type of track. How about some NASCAR track? Since this is completely hypothetical lets say it was on Volkswagen’s super-secret test facility in Germany, Ehra-Lessien.

I'm assuming you're going to head to the Ring at some point?

I rented a car from rent4ring.com in March and had a blast, since getting my BRZ I keep thinking about how I can get it on the Ring. :P

Doubt it's aero limited. This car is more Aerodynamic than my 07 350Z, and that car tops out at 155-160mph. Magazines said limited to 155, but many bone stock 07-08 Z's have surpassed the mark to about 160. I bet that the BRZ is limited to 138mph because that is the maximum speed that the stock Michelin Primacy HP tires can withold. They are JDM sport Prius tires afterall. This car is capable of a higher speed, Im sure of it. Maybe 145-150mph.

*Note. The 2011-2013 Mustang V6's w/ 305hp are limited to 117mph because of the speed rating that the stock tires can withold. I know that a 305hp car with a 6 speed transmission can go faster than that. So I think this is a similar case for the BRZ. Run a performance tire with a better speed rating, and the cars capabilities will be pushed closer to what physics and the engine allow the car to do.

I'll have to bust out my FRS on GT5 and take a top speed run. I am betting with a tail wind 134mph.
