Still no fix yet. No leaks, and my ECU is grounded. At this point, I am thinking for some reason my car does not like the CARB tune. I am going to get a custom tune in the new year and see if that fixes the issue.

Thinking about everything that gets removed/reinstalled for this we should be able to narrow this down. High fuel trims are generally a vacuum leak but all these other weird things showing up make me wonder if your ECU is connected and grounded. Check the four plugs on the ECU and make sure they are fully seated. I would actually pull all four off and check to make sure none of the pins are damaged before reconnecting everything. The ECU grounds to the block via the bottom bolt of the three that hold it on. I actually added an 8 gauge wire going right from the ECU to a bolt in an open hole on the block just to make sure.
Yes my fuel trims still go up to the 30s and sometimes hit 40, would you mind having a look at my datalog? Do you see anything weird? Thanks.

@djenousis @itsaBRZ did you guys ever find a fix to your problem?
Yup. Mines starts with P0171 then the other 2 pops up later. Someone mentioned to unplug the vacuum line that goes to the bypass valve and try suck on it until valve opens all the way. If air flows then it's no good. That's what I do and seems to be accurate.

Edelbrock needs to send you the tune and it looks like edelbrock are all on vacation until the 2nd.

Can anyone help me out? Is your bypass valve not aligned perfectly? I attached pics of it when opened and closed. You can see the misalignment at the base of the valve how the rod comes out. From the looks of it, it would fail a lot sooner because of this. It would be that thin rubber cup on the inside grinding crooked everytime the vacuum drops. Am I the only one or is this normal?

It is connected to an assembly that rotates. If it is aligned at one point in the rotation is must have an angle at another.

That looks normal to me.

Yes but the rotation is in and out. Here is a pic of it not installed and straight. You can see the base where the rod comes out is straight. In the earlier pics, one is under vacuum and the other not and it's both crooked.

The rotation of the valve causes an in-out motion of the rod but there is a non-zero length lever arm making the attachment. As the valve rotates the end of the arm must move vertically. Your orientation looks normal to me.

I suppose you could enforce longitudinal motion by cutting the arm, adding a second mount with a hole in it for the rod to slide through and then a hinge like a single chain link to the middle.

I have a theory that by sourcing the vacuum where they did, a spot the sees both vacuum and boost, they are causing extra wear to the diaphragm. My first actuator lasted two months. After switching to a vacuum-only source the replacement has been in use for over a year. Only a single data point, but it seems to be ok so far.

I think im around 4k miles since installation, bypass valve still holding. I still get surprised now and then by the power my car puts out. Especially in 2nd gear, pulls very hard.

Averaging 27 mpg which is 1mpg less than what i was before, which is nuts to me.

As a bonus, the car just feels SO alive with headers on it now and my mileage while cruising is now higher than before the Edelbrock kit.
I thought the Tomei headers weren't street legal?

Strictly speaking no. But removing the stock headers only removes the precat, which scrubs the exhaust for only the first 30 seconds or so before the main cat heats up. Most states simply use an OBDII check to see if everything is compliance and if you are tuned for it there will be no codes.

This won't work in CA I'm guessing.
