Everything he said points to a leak pre-AFR sensor.

The leak is pre-O2 sensor as mentioned above.

I was all doom and gloom last night. Having driven around a but today I can say I'm quite certain it's just the exhaust leak. The car runs well until it warms up.

It makes a lot of sense that the throttle issues I'm having would happen if the car was running rich occasionally.

My manifold flanges exhaust leak got REALLY bad before I fixed it. It will be a different car when you take care of it.

Yeah once I fix the leak the ECU will be a happy girl again I'm sure. Then I'll be deciding if I want to take advantage of my new clutch.

That's not a good feeling. Not to mention, all that dyno time can tax your wallet. Fix the exhaust leaks, I know it sounds easier said that done but don't spend another dime or second on the dyno until that's fixed. I saw your post that said you have some gaskets coming in so see what that entails.

My biggest exhaust leak was at the overpipe because I stripped a bolt. So while I thought everything was tight, it really wasn't, I was just stripping the bolt. Like @Sportsguy83 said, those exhaust leaks make a difference. Even though mine was post-O2, it made a huge difference.

I also have a keen ear for exhaust leaks, when I heard a flutter, I knew there was a leak.

P.S. ORDER A DAMN GAUGE

Hahahaha yeah I'm working on that last part. I won't be spending any time on the dyno until the leaks are gone and I sound like a real boy.

Heard it in person with their kit. Sounded awesome. Not overpowering but still decently loud. Growls nicely too.

Exhaust leak fixed as far as I can tell. Car is still running rough. I'm going back to PTuning a couple Saturdays from now and I'm going to have them retune. I'll be getting the following installed to make the dyno time worth it:

700 cc injectors
4 bar MAF sensor
manual boost controller

Looking to get similar results to @spitfire481, but probably a little lower as I'm aiming just a hair over 9 psi. I seem to recall him mentioning that the wastegate leaks a bit of boost at the top end when he aims for 10 psi.

Planning to have the car in a sort of dual-mode so I can dial back the power for autocross. We'll see what happens and I'll keep updating this as always.

Car is back from the shop. I decided to go with 770cc injectors as they are really the maximum I could ever need for the motor. I'd rather not have to buy another set of injectors down the line if I decide to go E85 or water-meth injection.

Here's the results:

It falls off a bit just like @spitfire481's car because it loses some boost at the top. Probably need an upgraded waste gate spring in order to maintain the boost, but I'm peaking boost around 10.5 psi. Also with the upgraded MAF my boost cutoff will actually work now!

Oh, and here's the mounting point for my new boost gauge!

The car kicks hard now. It's almost as crazy as it was when it was overboosting. I'm very pleased with these results just using 93 octane. I don't plan to do anymore power upgrades to the car at this point so I'm glad it made it this far.

Landing that close to 300 makes me sad we didn't get all the way there but it's not a big deal. We'll greatly overshoot that some day way down the line, but for now I'm going to focus on balancing out the handling of the car again.

Probably going to hibernate for the winter on upgrades though. I'll be going back on the 215 Blizzaks I have on my stock wheels, so I'll need to stay way out of boost!

Edit: Oh and thanks to @ptuning for another awesome tuning job. I now have the ECUTek RaceROM system running so I have multiple maps. He uses them for feature selection like so:

Map 1: Launch Control
Map 2: Launch Control + Blip Shift
Map 3: Launch Control + Blip Shift + Flat Foot Shifting

I never plan to use flat foot as I don't want to be that hard on the transmission, but the blip shift intrigues me. If I understood correctly it means I'll have the auto-rev-matching feature of the 370z and the new 'vette.

USDM GT86 with AVO Turbo!

Good shit!

I'm going back in a few weeks for my goodies. What's this blip-shift @ptuning? It sounds intriguing. I thought the twins already had auto-rev matching from the factory?

How does launch control work?

All these are things I would probably never use but they sound fun.

Launch control:
-come to a full stop
-step on clutch pedal
-shift to first gear
-your choice if you wanna hold on to the hand brake if you are on a hill
-gas pedal all the way to the floor fast as you can till the launch control kicks in and limits the rpm to whatever yours is currently set to (around 4k maybe?)
-launch

You can adjust the launch control up/down with your cruise control lever.

Does that guage have a shroud to cover it? Looks like it does, if so thats cool

The blip shift, last I read from Don or Visconti (can't remember and lol I know)

They recommended only using it on track because of the way it is designed it only operates under specific conditions. Unless they updated it to be like the 370Z but i haven't heard that.

There is a slight shroud to it to prevent glare. I love the gauge it's awesome.

Thanks for the input on the blip shift feature. I have yet to use it. I'll update later with my experiences.
