That sounded interesting until I ran into my lack of foreign language skills so went to the Honda UK site and configured a CTR that came in at $45,938 USD. I wouldn't be surprised is some of that is import tariffs like we see in most other parts of the world with local content rules.

Spoiler, France was like 3k euro or so more than Germany, can't remember now.

Conversions are pretty hard when you include the wrong side of the world. It's a little bit easier when you think USD to CAD, still not direct, you can't go to Google and be like yeah I am math genius, but it's easier to guesstimate.

Currency exchange rates are not a factor in determining what something costs in another country. They reflect the difference in value between the two currencies not the value of the product being purchased. The prices of goods do not go up and down as the local currency changes against the US dollar.

Even the Canadian to US is meaningless unless you are paying in US dollars. Do prices here go up and down with the US exchange? No they stay the same only the amount of US dollars needed to buy it changes.

The CTR is built in England, no import taxes.

VAT and emissions taxes would be the big differentiator between US and UK pricings, along with all the other wibbly wobbly things that make equivocating prices across borders not really real.

No debate there. Really my only point is knowing the price of something in the states likely will translate to being more expensive here, by how much though is what's up in the air, especially in the automotive world.

Example, if the Supra was a straight conversion a few months ago, the price would've been even more than the 65k? Retail we have here now, but I'm sure you don't need this example.

Built. The parts used to assemble the CTR can still be taxed, no? I was thinking the same thing, but it didn't make sense in my head.

It depends on the percent of locally produced content that varies by country.

Exactly - Even something like this in the Netherlands is crazy money due to the taxes - so a CTR is 60,000 Euros. The 86 had a similar fate.

I'm not surprised. Someone thought they were a race god and crashed a vehicle much more capable than they were.

Okay, okay, one more vid with some spicy info:

"The car was able to put down a maximum reading of 278 horsepower to the wheels— 10 more horsepower than what the car is rated for at the crank. "
