I watched trough Beastars and Dorohedoro on Netflix a few months ago and I really enjoyed both of them! Definitely keeping up with both as new seasons come out. The Beastars manga just ended so I plan on finishing it before season 2 comes out. Also, I keep up with MF Ghost whenever new scans are translated (firestorm FR-S, I gotta represent)

Also also, a friend of mine has been trying to convince me to watch Great Teacher Onizuka for years and he finally got me to sit down and check it out. Three episodes in and I already have plans to binge it all weekend lol

Oh man it's been a hot minute since I saw a good anime.
Last one I saw recently was Re:Zero directors cut just to recap to get into season 2. Good thing too. I forgot how f-up and great it was. Bummed out got to wait for season 3.

Besides that haven't seen any thing good lately. A coworker recommended a few but only one was a hit. Goblin Slayer was great. My hero academy was dog shit -my two cents not a shouen fan.
Besides that I'm just looking forward to continuation of other old anime shows.

Haven't checked out ReZero yet! I've only heard good things.

Watched Food Wars on Netflix.
If you are into cooking at all you will probably enjoy it.

I rewatched my favorite one, Eureka Seven, a few months ago. That was great. The music is phenomenal and the story is quite good.

I also continued watching the only one I've consistently watched since it started being made, Sword Art Online. It's fairly good IMO but a lot of people have problems with it. Just depends on what you care about.

Aside from those two, I watched the Initial D: Legends trilogy, which is basically three movies sort of done as a re-make of the original series but with nicer art (almost no eurobeat though, but I still enjoyed the newer music since some of it is the same as from the Initial D Arcade Stage Zero arcade game I played in Japan lol). It has fewer of the original races, but wasn't too bad. I enjoyed it.

Other than those I just can't get into newer anime these days. Was easier when I was going to college lol.

It's great. Start with the director cut version. It's 12 episodes but hour long uncensored. The original is 24 episodes and censored. Which is not bad either way.

Oh yeah Eureka Seven was good. Did you see the movies and the final season walking major spoiler alert as the main?

Yeah SAO was not my cup of tea. Only because I know it was a completely rip off of two shows .hack/ and Tower of Duraga. They even used the same people that did the soundtrack for .hack/sign.
And they have the balls to say it was original soundtrack and story, and the fan base with only one piece and nauto fans ate it right up.
I made it by crawling to the end of season 2. And even gave gun gala a shot, but I had to tap out. It was like getting brain raped by a retard. But.. my own opinion and all that jizz.

I don't know if I actually remember the spoiler you mean? I think I never watched the movie because supposedly it was like a retcon or something and not very good? Or do you mean the prequel "movie" thing?

I did watch Astral Ocean, which was like the follow-up series. It wasn't great but it was at least a little bit watchable and scratched my itch of missing the original series. I hope someday there can be a real follow-up series, but I'm not sure it'll ever happen.

So like here's my take on the SAO issue: I never watched or read .hack/sign. I realize a ton of people who watch much more anime than me did, so they didn't like how copy-like SAO was. But I hadn't ever watched those, so that side of things didn't bother me at all.

In fact, even in movies you could say some stories are based on or almost total copies of earlier movies. IMO it's not a big deal as long as it's still produced well. Plus if you haven't seen those earlier movies then it's not like you're going to know the difference.

The only thing I'll say about SAO is that the latest arc was super good. It was very different from the first two seasons. Partly because the author of SAO originally wrote that as a quick web novel for a competition, so he left a load of details out and didn't really know how to develop characters yet. But by the time he started the Alicization arc he really matured and it shows. I'd kinda recommend it but if you really dislike SAO as a whole then it's probably not worth your while.

Plus the funny thing about copycat stories and whatnot is that a lot of people feel that Eureka Seven is very similarly-written to Neon Genesis Evangelion, but I watched Eureka Seven for the first time before watching NGE, and preferred E7 way more.

So YMMV .

I suppose I forgot to say any anime I actually watched since March...

Great Pretender
SAO (re-watched)
7seeds
Japan sinks 2020
Dorohedoro
Beastars
BNA
A silent voice
Aaaaand... K-On! (Re-watched)

I'm sure there are a few more I'm forgetting.

These were all good in their own way. I'm not really a good critic of stuff, but I would say these are all worth a watch if the premise appeals to you.

Edit, totally forgot one: Erased was good

Ok, I forgot 2, Devilman Crybaby was... Interesting...

E7 is ~14x better than NGE

For real.

I think I finished the first season? Or only season? Of NGE and I couldn't get into it at all.

My friends who love it said to keep watching and that it builds as you go but I just never felt anything for it. It was moderately interesting but that's about it.

But Eureka Seven had me pretty much totally from the beginning.

I'm assuming a major part of it is that I prefer adventure-genre media more, and the major difference between E7 and NGE is that the crew in E7 is somewhat exploring, going from place to place, and seeing what the world is really like from episode to episode.

But NGE is more about being stuck in one place and cornered. Which I get is part of the story, but it just didn't draw me in the same way at all.

I finished NGE this time because a lot of my highschool friends were into it and I never got around to watching more than a random episode or two. Even watched The End of Evangelion and it still didn't really make sense. The end is like a season's worth of Gurren Lagann escalation rolled into 2 episodes. Which is both impressive and weird.

@spike021,
Oh many then you don't know how E7 ends. The movies are just recaps so you don't miss anything.

As to NGE I'm old enough to remember the history of the author, well his mental state at the time. Dude was suicidal, coked up and tripping on acid, when he wrote it. Thus to this day it's why it is the way it is. F-up and confusing. And he did have a thing for his mom so..... not like it's a bad thing you know, he didn't really acted on it.

SOA will forever leave a sour taste. Only cause I know. It's like saying the new ghost buster movie is far better than the original, because half the people never bothered to watch the original, but they know it exists.
